    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To omit a multiplier by utilizing that a higher harmonic is outputted from a voltage controlled oscillator(VCO) and amplifying the n-th higher harmonic signal of a desired VCO by means of an n-th higher harmonic frequency band amplifier. SOLUTION: A voltage controlled oscillator fundamental wave signal inputted to a fundamental frequency band amplifier 15 is divided into 1/m of a voltage controlled oscillator basic frequency 11 by a frequency divider 7. The frequency divided output signal is compared with a reference signal from a reference signal oscillator 1 by a phase comparator 2 and a voltage corresponding to phase difference between two frequencies is generated. The voltage generated by the phase comparator 2 is inputted to a loop filter 3, an unrequired higher harmonic component included in the output of the phase comparator 2 and noise are removed and also a control voltage for oscillating VCO 4 by the frequency being synchronized with the reference signal is outputted. Therefore, VCO 4 outputs the frequency being synchronized with the reference signal by the control voltage from the loop filter.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the attenuation quantity and the reflection characteristic in the out-band areas especially in a low frequency band and also to vary the attenuation quantity by placing the 1st and 2nd resistors at both sides of the coupling lines having the length equal to 1/4 wavelength. SOLUTION: The coupling lines 4 having the length equal to 1/4 wavelength at a desired frequency band are used in place of the transmission lines of a conventional microwave attenuator. When the lines 4 are formed by the microstrip lines, the characteristic impedance of both lines 4 is determined, based on the line width and the inter-line space. Thus the specific line width and inter-line space are selected to secure a desired characteristic impedance. As a result, the lines 4 can be almost electrically equalized to the conventional transmission line. Therefore, the microwave attenuator can secure the same characteristic as conventional at a necessary band. However, the coupling value of the lines 4 are very small in the out-band areas and therefore the reflection characteristic of an input terminal 1 or an output terminal 2 is deteriorated. However, the attenuation quantity is increased between both terminals 1 and 2.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a target-information detecting system in which information used to discriminate a target is obtained in addition to a distance up to the target and its relative speed. As a result, in addition to a distance up to the target and its relative speed, it is possible to obtain code information on the target which corresponds to the frequency characteristic of the frequency selective reflector constituting the target.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To secure the matching of impedance between the microwave circuits and to reduce the loss of a transmission circuit while keeping a gap between the microwave circuits by adding an impedance transformer of frequency to every microwave circuit to set a specific rate against the intra-transmission line wavelength. SOLUTION: An impedance transformer having length of 1/4 intra- transmission line wavelength λg is prepared between the microstrip line substrates 7c and 7d and a conductive ribbon or wire 5. Thus, the microwave or millimeter wave that is inputted from a microwave circuit can be transmitted to the substrate 7c or 7d with no reflection caused at the part of the ribbon or wire 5 owing to presence of the impedance transformer of 1/4 wavelength. Furthermore, a specific gap 8 is prepared between both substrates 7c and 7d to prevent the breakage of these substrates due to the interference despite their expansion or shrinkage caused against the ambient temperature change of the microwave circuit.
