摘要： Provided in the present invention are a transmission mode reporting method and user equipment. In a novel aspect, the present invention provides a method for reporting a transmission mode, comprising: in a communication network, receiving a random access resource configuration from a base station through a user equipment; selecting a random access resource according to a transmission mode capability of the user equipment; transmitting a first message by using the selected random access resource; transmitting a third message according to a random access response (RAR), wherein the third message comprises information of the transmission module supported by the user equipment. The transmission mode reporting method and user equipment provided in the present invention can reduce a peak-to-average power ratio of a signal transmission of the user equipment or provide a higher peak rate of the uplink transmission.

摘要： Methods and apparatus are provided for a UE to send channel status reports (CSR) to a network entity. In one novel aspect, the CSR is generated at the MAC layer. In one embodiment, the UE detects one or more triggering event, obtains a value of channel status from the PHY layer, generates the CSR based on the value obtained from the PHY layer and transmits the channel status report to an eNB. In another embodiment, the UE starts a timer and waits for a UL grant to transmit the CSR. If no UL grant is received before the timer expires, the UE triggers either a dedicated SR or a random access SR. In another novel aspect, the channel status report is generated in a NAS message and sent to a NAS entity through the NAS layer. In one embodiment, the tracking-area-update procedure is used for the CSR.

The UE repeatedly transmits a data block with a first repetition number and retransmits the data block with a second repetition number. In one embodiment, the first and the second repetition number value are explicitly included in an uplink grant message. In another embodiment, the UE obtains a repetition number value by looking up a repetition number table indexed by the repetition number indicator, which is included in an uplink grant message for the first repetition number and included in a HARQ message for the second repetition number. In yet another embodiment, the UE determines a coverage enhancement degree value, a data block size value and an available transport resource block size. The UE obtains a repetition number by table-look-up based on the coverage-enhancement degree value, the data block size, and the transport resource block size.

In yet another novel aspect, resource blocks are selected for a PUCCH for a narrowband UE.
