    • Un balastro para una lámpara de descarga de gas (22) que comprende: una primera parte del circuito (10, 16, 17, 20) para proporcionar potencia a la lámpara (22), adaptada la primera parte del circuito para recibir potencia desde una alimentación principal de c.a. para su conversión a una forma adecuada para la alimentación de potencia a la lámpara (22), una segunda parte del circuito (24) para procesar datos intercambiados con un enlace de comunicaciones, teniendo la segunda parte del circuito una fuente de alimentación (32) suministrada desde la alimentación principal de c.a., estando acoplada la fuente de alimentación (32) a la alimentación principal de c.a. de la primera parte del circuito (10, 16, 17, 20), un primer circuito de protección (1) acoplado en serie con la alimentación principal de c.a. para la protección de la primera (10, 16, 17, 20) y segunda (24) partes del circuito en el caso de un fallo del circuito eléctrico que conduzca a una primera condición de sobreintensidad en la primera (10, 16, 17, 20) o segunda partes del circuito (24), estando la fuente de alimentación (32) para la segunda parte del circuito (24) acoplada de forma que esté protegida por el primer circuito de protección (1), y un segundo circuito de protección (2) dispuesto en serie con la primera parte del circuito (10, 16, 17, 20) tras la unión de la alimentación principal de c.a. con la fuente de alimentación (32) de la segunda parte del circuito y que proporciona protección solamente en el caso de un fallo eléctrico en la primera parte del circuito (10, 16, 17, 20) que conduzca a una segunda condición de sobreintensidad en la primera parte del circuito (10, 16, 17, 20), adaptándose el segundo circuito de protección (2) de forma que en caso de un fallo eléctrico en la primera parte del circuito (10, 16, 17, 20), el segundo circuito de protección (2) interrumpirá la alimentación de potencia a la primera parte del circuito (10, 16, 17, 20) de forma que impida la primera sobreintensidad en el primer circuito de protección que podría hacer que el primer circuito de protección (1) interrumpa la alimentación de potencia y por lo tanto permitiendo que el primer circuito de protección (1) continúe suministrando potencia a la segunda parte del circuito (24), en el que la segunda parte del circuito (24) comprende además circuitos de entrada de sensor (28) adaptados para recibir una entrada de sensor proporcionada desde un sensor externo, y en el que el sensor externo comprende al menos a uno de entre un sensor de ocupación, un fotosensor y un sensor infrarrojo, en el que la segunda parte del circuito (24) incluye un puerto de comunicación (30) para intercambio de datos con el enlace de comunicaciones y en el que, en el caso de un fallo eléctrico en el la primera parte del circuito (10, 16, 17, 20) que conduzca a la activación del segundo circuito de protección (2), la segunda parte del circuito (24) reciba continuamente potencia desde la fuente de alimentación (32), permitiendo por ello que la entrada del sensor se intercambie con al menos otro balastro conectado al enlace de comunicación.
