    • An image forming apparatus having an operation improved in view of use of normal healthy persons and handicapped persons. The image forming apparatus comprising an operation panel having a display and an input section, has: a specifying section for specifying whether a user is a normal healthy person or a handicapped person; a storage for storing an operation function when the normal healthy person uses the apparatus, and an operation function when the handicapped person uses the apparatus; and an operation function changing section for reading a corresponding operation function out of the storage, and changing an operation function of the operation panel according as the normal healthy person or the handicapped person is specified by the specifying section.

    • A speed controlling circuit for controlling an optical scanning system driving motor in use with an image forming apparatus such as a copier and a printer. The speed controlling circuit includes; an encoder for generating pulse signals according to a rotation of the optical scanning system driving motor; a generating circuit for generating reference clock signals; a first memory for storing a first set of numbers for dividing a frequency of the pulse signals; a second memory for storing a second set of numbers corresponding to a target rotation speed of the optical scanning system driving motor; a first setting circuit and a second setting circuit for respectively reading one of the first set of numbers from the first memory and one of the second set of numbers from the second memory, and for setting those numbers at every predetermined interval time while the optical scanning system driving motor is accelerating or decelerating; a frequency-dividing circuit for dividing the frequency of the pulse signals according to the set number of the first set of numbers; a detecting circuit for detecting a rotating speed of the optical scanning system driving motor according to the reference signals and pulse signals at every frequency period which is divided by the frequency-dividing circuit; a comparator circuit for comparing the rotating speed, detected by the detecting circuit, with the set number of the second set of numbers at every frequency period which is divided by the frequency-dividing circuit; and a control circuit for controlling the rotating speed of the optical scanning system driving motor according to a result of the comparing of the comparator circuit.

    • In order to shorten the convergence time for compensating distortion generated by a high-frequency power amplifier, a distortion compensation circuit which independently generates coefficients of odd-symmetrical amplitude distortion compensation signals and coefficients of odd-symmetrical phase distortion compensation signals of respective orders of a high-frequency power amplifier includes an even-symmetrical distortion compensation signal generation circuit for generating an even-symmetrical amplitude distortion compensation signal and an even-symmetrical phase distortion compensation signal from a difference between the input signal amplitude and a signal obtained by delaying the input signal amplitude and a difference between the input signal and a signal obtained by delaying the input signal, respectively independently and independently of the odd-symmetrical distortion compensation signals, and an even-symmetrical distortion compensation signal superposition circuit for superposing the even-symmetrical distortion compensation signals on the input signal, and conducts pre-compensation on odd-symmetrical distortion and even-symmetrical distortion independently.
