    • A film feeding cessation adjusting device for cameras is capable of accurately stopping to a predetermined stopping position each frame of a film having a minimum number of perforations in order to ensure a sufficient data recording area. The film feeding cessation adjusting device includes a film feeding device for feeding a film, a perforation detection device for detecting a perforation of the film, a timer device for measuring a time required for film feeding, a stopping signal generating device for obtaining a time which is delayed by a predetermined period from the time at which the perforation detection device detects the perforation, on the basis of the results of the measurement of the timer device and for generating a feeding stopping signal at the obtained time, and a control device for stopping film feeding of the film feeding device when it receives the feeding stopping signal.

    • In a camera comprising a CPU, a film feeding section, a serial data clock creating circuit section, a PPM conversion circuit section, a photographic information output circuit section, and a magnetic head drive section, the CPU produces a reference clock CLK depending on a film winding speed in the film feeding section, and the serial data clock creating circuit section creates a serial data clock SCK corresponding to the reference clock CLK. The CPU converts photographic information from the photographic information output circuit section into serial data and outputs the serial data in synchronization with the serial data clock SCK. Based on the serial data and the reference clock CLK both from the CPU, the PPM conversion circuit section converts photographic information into a PPM signal and outputs the PPM signal to the magnetic head drive section for magnetically recording it on a film.

    • An automatic focus adjustment camera in which a photo-taking lens is step-driven to one of a plurality of set positions, depending upon measurement of object distance, employs aperture adjustment or adjustment of object distance to improve resolution of images. The total focusing distance range of the photo-taking lens is divided into successive object distance ranges, and the center of each object distance range corresponds to one of the set positions of the photo-taking lens. The amount of adjustment to improve resolution is determined by the extent to which the measured object distance differs from the center of the object distance range that includes the measured object distance. In a portrait photography mode the aperture diameter is made large enough to ensure blurring of background while obtaining a sharp object image.

    • A camera capable of operation in continuous photography and one-frame photography modes has an automatically activated flash device the operation of which may be inhibited by the user when desired. In a preferred embodiment, when the camera is in the continuous photography mode and the user has inhibited the flash device, the inhibition of the flash device is maintained upon completion of continuous photography. One-frame photography may be performed while the camera is in the continuous photography mode, and while maintaining inhibition of the flash device, by momentary depression of the shutter release button. If the camera is operated in the one-frame photography mode and the flash device is inhibited, inhibition of the flash device is automatically cancelled after each exposure.
