    • An LED drive circuit is provided that is connectable to a phase-control light controller and drives an LED load by use of a voltage obtained by rectifying a phase-controlled alternating current voltage inputted from the phase-control light controller. The LED drive circuit includes: a first phase angle detection portion that detects a phase angle in a present cycle; a second phase angle detection portion that detects a phase angle in a cycle preceding the present cycle by at least one cycle; a bias portion that generates a detection signal by adding a predetermined delay time to a phase angle obtained by averaging the phase angle detected by the first phase angle detection portion and the phase angle detected by the second phase angle detection portion; and a drive portion that starts current supply to the LED load at timing based on the detection signal generated by the bias portion.

    • A color image forming apparatus of the present invention is, for example, a digital color copying machine arranged to include two image processing units (first and second image processing units) each having a photosensitive body. The first image processing unit forms a monochrome image and the second image processing unit forms a particular pattern or a trace pattern. According to this arrangement, the particular pattern or trace pattern can be added to a monochrome image while maintaining a printing rate as fast as a monochrome image printing rate. Consequently, an additional information of a color other than black can be combined with a monochrome image at the same printing rate as the monochrome image printing rate, thereby making it possible to provide a compact and inexpensive apparatus.

    • In the present invention, by virtue of heat buffer plates respectively located on the major surfaces of IGBT chips and FRD chips arranged in a single plane, the total thickness of each chip and a corresponding one of the heat can be set to a substantially predetermined value. A thickness-correcting member having elongated projections corresponding to the chips is provided on those surfaces of the heat buffer plates which is remote from the chips. A heat buffer disk plate is provided on those surfaces of the chips which are opposite to the major surfaces thereof. The thickness-correcting member, the heat buffer plates and the IGBT and FRD chips are held and simultaneously pressed between an emitter press-contact electrode plate and a collector press-contact electrode plate. Before using the device, a force of press, which is higher than that applied at the time of using the device and can plastically deform the thickness-correcting member, is applied to the emitter press-contact electrode plate and the collector press-contact electrode plate, thereby correcting variations in total thickness of each semiconductor chip and a corresponding one of the heat buffer plates.
