    • An improved rpm regulator for a fuel injection pump associated with an internal combustion engine. The regulator includes an intermediate lever, a fuel quantity control sleeve conncted to the intermediate lever, a regulating spring connected to the intermediate lever, a device for generating an rpm signal and applying a force corresponding therewith through the intermediate lever to the fuel quantity control sleeve in opposition to a force exerted by the regulating spring, a control lever, an adjustable stop mounted to the housing and a biasing spring. The intermediate lever is mounted to the control lever which in turn is mounted to the pump housing and is biased against the adjustable stop by the biasing spring.

    • A fuel injection pump for Diesel engines in which a rotating and reciprocating piston pressurizes and distributes fuel to individual pressure lines leading to the injection valves of the engine. In order to change the timing of injection with respect to the engine cycle, there is provided a mechanism to change the relative angle between the pressurizing piston and its drive means, which runs in synchronism with the engine. The mechanism operates hydraulically and is affected by the fuel pressure in the sump of the injection pump. There is also provided a hydraulic control valve mechanism which permits varying amounts of fuel to flow back from the sump to the low pressure side of the fuel delivery pump, thereby changing the injection timing. A primary control valve adjusts the sump pressure on the basis of engine speed while a secondary control valve adjusts the sump pressure on the basis of engine temperature in order to adapt the timing of fuel injection to engine starting and engine warm-up. Various embodiments are presented.

    • A speed regulating device for fuel injection pumps of internal combustion engines includes an intermediate lever pivotable about an axis defined by a shaft which is coupled to a fuel quantity adjustment member of the injection pump. The shaft is acted on by a speed signalling device with speed dependent force against the arbitrarily variable force of a main control spring and the force of a starting spring. A speed signalling device acts on a one-armed adjustment lever, which is pivotably attached to the intermediate lever. The adjustment lever is acted on by the starting spring, and includes an adjustment capsule at its end. This adjustment capsule cooperates with a one-armed drag lever, pivotable, about the same axis defined by the shaft about which the intermediate lever pivots, as far as an adjustable stop. The drag lever is acted on by the main control spring. The adjustment lever includes a stop projecting in the direction of the drag lever between the point of contact of the speed signalling device and the attachment point on the intermediate lever.

    • A fuel injection pump for internal combustion engines includes a pump piston whose simultaneous reciprocation and rotation distributes pressurized fuel to the several injection nozzles of the engine. In order to shift the onset of fuel injection towards a later time during the delivery stroke of the piston, relief channels are disposed in the piston and in the surrounding cylindrical bushing. An annular slide, moving coaxially with respect to the piston, cooperates with the terminal apertures of one or more of these relief channels to relieve the fluid pressure in the working chamber of the pump, thereby interrupting fuel injection to the nozzles of the engine.
