摘要： PURPOSE:To provide remarkably high rust resistance by developing a temper color on the finished surface of a steel sheet, vanishing it by electrolytic pickling in nitric acid under specified conditions, washing and drying the steel sheet and carrying out baking finish with an org. resin paint. CONSTITUTION:A polished and washed steel sheet is heated at 160-550 deg.C in the air to develop a temper color and this temper color is vanished by electrolytic pickling in 7-15wt% nitric acid at 40-60 deg.C and 5-20A/dm current density for 1-12sec electrolysis time. After the steel sheet is washed and dried, baking finish is carried out with an org. resin paint to obtain a coated stainless steel sheet.

摘要： PURPOSE:To facilitate the descaling of a cold rolled stainless steel strip at a low cost and to improve the surface properties of the strip by applying an aqueous soln. of a specified alkaline substance having a prescribed concn. to the steel strip before the strip is continuously annealed and descaled. CONSTITUTION:Rolling oil sticking to the surfaces of a cold rolled stainless steel strip is removed with a suitable degreasing agent. An aqueous soln. of KOH or Ca(OH)2 adjusted to 9-13pH is applied to the surfaces of the degreased strip, and the strip is continuously annealed. Even when the strip is annealed in a conventional oxidizing atmosphere, the formation of oxide scale can be effectively inhibited. The annealed strip is descaled by a known method. Since the strip can be easily descaled by said pretreatment before annealing, the quantity of electric power required to descale the strip by electrolysis and the concn. and temp. of an acid soln. used can be reduced, and the surface luster after descaling can be improved.

摘要： PURPOSE:To perform descaling so as to obtain a beautiful finish surface within a short time without generating public nuisance caused by generated gas, by a method wherein a stainless steel strip is continuously pickled with hydrochloric acid and succeedingly pickled with nitric acid while electrolysis is performed in a hydrochloric acid bath or a nitric acid bath in proper quantity of electricity. CONSTITUTION:In a continuous pickling process for pickling a stainless steel strip with nitric acid after pickling due to hydrochloric acid, electrolysis is performed in at least one of an acid bath selected from a hydrochloric acid bath and a nitric acid bath in total quantity of electricity of 25 coulomb or more. By this method, the alloy layer of a different nature directly under scale is dissolved efficiently within a short time and, at the same time, oxide scale can be removed perfectly and a beautiful finish surface is obtained. In addition, hydrogen chloride fume generated from the hydrochloric acid is absorbed and removed easily through the contact with water and no other gas generating public nuisance is generated. In the above mentioned acid bath, the hydrochloric acid bath is pref. adjusted to about 10-25% in the HCl-concn. thereof and has a solution temp. of about 50-85 deg.C while the concn. of the nitric acid bath is pref. about 5-15% and the solution temp. thereof is about 40-70 deg.C.
