    • A thermoplastic vulcanizate composition comprising from 5 wt % to 95 wt %, based on the total weight of the thermoplastic vulcanizate composition, of a first component comprising a first propylene-based polymer selected from the group consisting of (i) propylene/α-olefin copolymers comprising from 1 to 20 wt % α-olefin and characterized by a g′ ratio of less than 1, measured at interpolymer number average molecular weight (Mn), an MFR (2.16 kg @ 230° C.) greater than or equal to 0.01, a density greater than or equal to 0.850 g/cc, and a molecular weight distribution, Mw/Mn, less than or equal to 3.5, and (ii) combinations thereof; and from 5 wt % to 95 wt %, based on the total weight of the thermoplastic vulcanizate composition, of a second component selected from the group consisting of curable or vulcanizable rubbers, having a density from 0.85 to 0.88 g/cc, I2 from 0.001 to 5 g/10 min, and a Mooney viscosity from 5 to 400, and combinations thereof; wherein at least one of the rubbers is vulcanizable; wherein the thermoplastic vulcanizate composition has a tensile strength at break of greater than or equal to 8 MPa and tear strength at 23° C. of at least 190 lb-f/in. is provided. Methods of making the composition and articles made from the composition are also provided.

    • The instant invention is an improved cure system composition and a method for curing chlorinated elastomer compositions. The cure system composition includes a polymercapto crosslinking agent; an inorganic base; and an onium salt. The onium salt has a formula selected from the group consisting of wherein Z is a nitrogen or phosphorous atom, R1 to R4 are independently alkyl or aryl groups containing between 2 and 8 carbon atoms, and the total number of carbon atoms on R1-R4 is between 10 and 14; wherein R5 and R6 are alkyl groups containing between 1 and 8 carbon atoms, and the total number of carbon atoms on R5-R6 being between 5 and 9; and wherein X is an anion. The method for curing a chlorinated elastomer composition according to instant invention includes the following steps: (1) providing a chlorinated elastomer composition; (2) providing a cure system composition as described above; (3) contacting said chlorinated elastomer composition with said cure system composition; and (4) thereby curing said chlorinated elastomer composition.

    • The instant invention is a cure system for halogenated elastomer compositions, a curable halogenated elastomer composition, and a method for curing a halogenated elastomer composition. The cure system for halogenated elastomer compositions includes a polymercapto crosslinking agent, an inorganic base, and a hydrated salt selected from the group consisting of lithium citrate, trilithium citrate pentahydrate, trilithium citrate tetrahydrate, and monolithium dihydrogen citrate monohydrate. The curable halogenated elastomer composition includes a chlorinated elastomer, and a cure system including a polymercapto crosslinking agent, an inorganic base, and a hydrated salt selected from the group consisting of lithium citrate, trilithium citrate pentahydrate, trilithium citrate tetrahydrate, and monolithium dihydrogen citrate monohydrate. Furthermore, the method for curing a halogenated elastomer composition includes the following steps: (1) providing a chlorinated elastomer composition; (2) providing a cure system composition including a polymercapto crosslinking agent, an inorganic base, and a hydrated salt selected from the group consisting of lithium citrate, trilithium citrate pentahydrate, trilithium citrate tetrahydrate, and monolithium dihydrogen citrate monohydrate; (3) uniformly blending the cure system into the chlorinated elastomer composition; (4) thereby forming a curable chlorinated elastomer composition; (5) subjecting the curable chlorinated elastomer composition to heat or heat and pressure; and (6) thereby curing the curable chlorinated elastomer composition.
