摘要： Providing for improved transactioning for Flash memory is described herein. By way of example, transactioning operations associated with abstract data structures can be bundled into a common layer of a Flash management protocol stack, to reduce transaction redundancy at abstracted layers. In some aspects, the common layer can be a block level layer providing relatively direct access to low level Flash. Thus, a file system or database application, operating at a higher, abstracted layer of the Flash management protocol stack, can offload transactioning operations to a block level process that has access to underlying Flash memory. As a result, increased efficiency, throughput, and added flexibility can be achieved for storage system transactioning.

The displays may be, for example, separate LCD panels that are placed in close proximity to one another so as to give the appearance of a single, large display. At least two of the displays may be treated by a computer connected to the monitor as a single display. A display controller divides a single frame of information that is provided by a display adapter of the computer into display information for multiple displays. By using the multiple display controller, the multiple display monitor may have more displays or panels than the number of cables linking the monitor to a computer. The special display controller also does not require a graphics card for each display. A three panel or display monitor is provided in which a central, centered work area display is framed by two side panels or displays.

In addition, using a separate hardware path, the security module may access processor register data using a debug port. 摘要： A system for binding a subscription-based computer to an internet service provider (ISP) may include a binding module and a security module residing on the computer. The binding module may identify and authenticate configuration data from peripheral devices that attempt to connect to the computer, encrypt any requests for data from the computer to the ISP, and decrypt responses from the ISP. If the binding module is able to authenticate the configuration data and the response to the request for data from the ISP, then the security module may allow the communication between the computer and the ISP. However, if either the configuration cycle or the response cannot be properly verified, then the security module may degrade operation of the computer.

摘要： A display controller that permits more than one display to be operated by a single cable and a single display adapter. The display controller provides custom EDID information to a computer to which it is attached. The custom EDID information may include information about the single virtual display surface provided by all displays, and may include information about each of the individual monitors or displays, including the location of the individual displays in the single composite display surface. The single composite display surface may be utilized by computers that are not capable of recognizing the EDID for the multiple display system. If the computer does recognize the EDID for the multiple display system, the operating system of the computer and/or applications running on the computer may understand and utilize the heterogeneous nature of the display surface and may optimize display quality and presentation for a user.

摘要： A computer system uses a large heat sink to provide noiseless cooling, thereby avoiding the need for a conventional cooling fan that can be very noisy. The heat sink forms a part of a chassis that contains the motherboard and hard drive of the computer. The motherboard and hard drive are mounted in the chassis to provide thermal conduction from the microprocessor on the motherboard and from the hard drive to the heat sink, which dissipates the heat in the ambient air. Enhanced EMI shielding is provided by placing a shroud with vented top and bottom over the chassis containing the motherboard and the hard drive.
