摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prepare a preventing and therapeutic agent for infectious diseases in fishes such as a yellowtail or a red sea-bream, crustaceans such as a prawn or a black tiger shrimp, comprising a milk whey (a hydrolyzates thereof) as an active ingredient, excellent in safety and substitutive for an antibiotic substance causing problems in development of resistant bacteria, remaining in the body, etc. SOLUTION: This preventing and therapeutic agent for infectious diseases comprises (A1 ) a milk whey or (A2 ) a hydrolyzate of the milk whey as an active ingredient. Furthermore, the agent is preferably administered in a daily dose of 1-6000mg/kg body weight, expressed in terms of the dried ingredient A1 or A2 and divided in 2 or 3 portions. The ingredient A1 is obtained by adding an acid to a milk or a skimmilk of a mammal such as a cow, a woman or a ewe and removing the produced coagulated substance. The ingredient A2 is prepared by dissolving, e.g. the ingredient A1 in water so as to provide 5-15% protein concentration, then thermally sterilizing the resultant solution, enzymically treating the sterilized solution with a proteolytic enzyme such as a pepsin, subsequently inactivating the enzyme and, as necessary, carrying out the ultrafiltering, concentrating and drying of the prepared solution.

摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject feed preventing aquatic organisms such as aquarium fishes from suffering infectious diseases by their routine intake thereof, essentially containing the hydrolyzate of a lactoferrin-free lactoprotein. SOLUTION: First, lactofferrin is removed from a milk such as whey and the resultant milk is concentrated to dryness into powder to obtain a lactoprotein, which is then hydrolyzed. Next, 0.01-20wt.% of the resultant hydrolyzate is incorporated in a feed for aquatic organisms to obtain the objective feed. This feed is capable of maintaining the vitality of aquatic organisms for a long period, being free from any problem of in vivo persistence due to its long-term intake such as that in the case of taking antibiotics.

摘要： PURPOSE:To provide a new peptide for removal of endotoxins, separated from blood cells of Limulus polyphemus, having a specified amino acid sequence and capable of specifically binding to an endotoxin existing in a bacterial cell and causing a remarkable fever or shock by coming into the blood. CONSTITUTION:Blood cells are isolated from the blood of Limulus polyphemus produced in China by centrifugation and hemolyzed and crushed by adding 30% acetic acid thereto. The resultant material is centrifuged at 4 deg.C and the supernatant is separated. The supernatant is allowed to pass through a gel filtration column equilibrated with 50mM ammonium acetate buffer solution (pH 5.5) and the eluted active fraction is collected. The collected fraction is subjected to a molecular sieve chromatography and eluted with 50mM ammonium acetate buffer solutions containing sodium chloride (pH 5.5) with a gradient a series of concentration within a range of 0 to 1M so as to be fractionated. The active fractions are collected and lyophilized, thus producing the objective new peptide having an N-terminal amino acid sequence represented by the formula and about 8000 molecular weight and exhibiting a specific binding ability to endotoxin.

The preventing and treating agent is effective for yellow heading of Penaeus monodon, Vibrio infectious disease of Penaeus monodon, Vibrio infectious disease of Penaeus japonicus, etc.

摘要： PURPOSE: To obtain a viral disease-preventing and -treating agent and feed which is effective against viral diseases of Pisces and Crustacea and shows safety and excellent efficacy that it can be used instead of an antibiotic agent. CONSTITUTION: This Pisces and Crustacea viral diseases-preventive and therapeutic agent contains, as an active ingredient, the cells bodies of a bacterium having antiviral activity in Rhodopseudomonas or Acetobacter such as Rhodopseudomonas capsulata, Rhodopseudomonas sphaeroides or Acetobacter aceti. These bacteria are cultured, for example, in a medium enriched with carbohydrates, alcohol or organic acids, at a pH of 4.0-9.5 at 20-40 deg.C for 12 hours to 5 days. The culture mixture is transferred to centrifugal tubes, centrifuged at 10,000rpm for 10 minutes to obtain the cells as a precipitate. The therapeutic agent or feed contains the dried cell bodies and the dose is preferably 1-300mg/kg/day in 2-3 portions.
