The valve 2 is provided with such an action that an optical picture is formed according to a video signal as the change of the optical characteristic. Besides, the light emitted from the light source 1, passed through the element 3, made incident on the valve 2 and passed through it is made incident on a projection lens 5. The projection lens 5 has such an action that the optical picture formed by the valve 2 is magnified and projected on a screen 6.
