摘要： PURPOSE: To improve the operability by changing the extent, by which a cursor is moved with a coordinate instruction means, to an extent of scroll if the scroll is set by the coordinate instruction means. CONSTITUTION: When the coordinate instruction means, for example, a mouse 6 is moved, a CPU 10 reads in the extent of cursor movement through an input/ output. controller 16 to calculate a temporary extent of movement of the cursor. Next, a CPU 10 discriminates whether a scroll flag is set by a switch of the mouse 6 or not; and if the flag is set, the CPU 10 discriminates whether a cursor 5 is placed in a display area 4 or not. When it is discriminated that the cursor is placed in a display object area 2, the CPU 10 moves the display object area 2, which should be cut out from a display contents definition space 1, in the scrolling direction to scroll the contents of the display area 4, namely, the picture on a display device. Thus, switching between coordinate instruction and scroll operation is facilitated, and the operability of a work station is improved.
