摘要： An ink jet apparatus includes an ink jet head having in energy generator which car, generate energy employed for discharging ink as a droplet from a discharge port, and a control unit for controlling the energy generated from the energy generator so as to remove ink droplets, which adhere to a discharge port surface, by spreading the meniscus of the ink projecting from the discharge port on the discharge port surface. 摘要： An ink-jet recording apparatus, using an ink-jet head for ejecting ink supplied from an ink tank for storing ink and performing recording by ejecting ink from the ink-jet head based on recording data, the ink-jet recording apparatus performing recording by receiving the recording data transferred from a host through a signal line in a state that the ink-jet recording apparatus is connected to the host by the signal line. The apparatus obtains information as to a remaining amount of ink stored in an ink tank and a used amount of the ink-jet head, and stores the information so-obtained. A controller processes recording data transferred from the host and controls recording by the ink-jet head. According to one aspect, the controller transfers information stored in the memory to the host through the signal line according to a command input through the signal line.

摘要： An ink jet printing apparatus and an ink jet printing method according to the present invention suppress a variation in the density of ink in a supply channel and a print head without the need for useless recovery operations, thus always providing very reliable high-grade images. The ink jet printing apparatus carries out printing using a print head for ejecting ink. The apparatus includes a scanning unit for causing the print head to scan across a printing medium, a measuring unit for measuring a time from an end of a preceding printing operation until a start of a current printing operation, and a determining unit for determining whether or not a result of measurement executed by the measuring unit exceeds a predetermined value. The scanning unit causes the print head to carry out at least one idle scan before the start of a printing operation depending on a result of determination made by the determining unit.

摘要： An ink jet recording device includes scanning means for scanning ink jet recording heads in a scanning direction, each of the recording heads having plural ink discharge generating elements and plural discharge ports associated therewith, the discharge ports being adapted to perform a recording operation within a recording area which is a total area covered by the discharge ports during one scanning operation, supplying means for supplying recording signals corresponding to the recording area to a group of the ink discharge energy generating elements, and conveying means for conveying a recording medium relative to the recording heads. A control means controls the ink jet recording heads, supplying means and conveying means so that when the control means operates in a first recording mode, a recording within the recording area is completed in a single scanning operation, and when the control means operates in a second recording mode, the recording within the recording area is completed by plural scanning operations such that the recording area is subjected to the overlapped recordings by different discharge ports. The control means selects the recording mode according to a condition relating at least to a material quality of the recording medium.
