摘要： PURPOSE:To elevate the noise shielding effect of a dynamo-electric machine by providing an upper cover, which covers the entire dynamo-electric machine, above a shielding plate, and besides applying sound preventive material to the inner face of this cover. CONSTITUTION:The noise such as the mechanical sound from a rotor 1 which occurs accompanying the operation of a dynamo-electric machine, the electro- magnetic sound from a stator, and others is fairly shielded by the shielding plate 8 supported by a foundation concrete 11. But, fair noise leaks from the part of a collector ring 7 projecting from this shielding plate 8. Thereupon, this noise is shielded by upper cover 9 arranged above the shielding plate 8 so as to prevent the noise from leaking to outside. Moreover, a noise absorbing material 10 is provided at the inner face of the upper cover 9 so as to elevate the shielding effect. Since the upper cover and the sound absorbing material shield the noise leaked from the collector ring or the shielding plate this way, the noise shielding effect of the dynamo-electric machine can be elevated.

CONSTITUTION:A frequency converter 7 is connected to 3-phase AC-excited current command calculators 6a by a converter 9 at the time of normal operation. Here, when a cycloconverter is, for example, used for a frequency converter, the case that one-phase winding is opened is considered like the case that an arm shortcircuit occurs. In this case, the converter 9 is switched to 2-phase AC-excited current command calculator 6b, and the converter 7 and the calculator 6b are connected. Thus, a 3-phase AC-excited state is smoothly shifted to a 2-phase AC-excited state at the time of opening of 1-phase exciting winding without stopping a device.

When the generated output command starts to go up, phase- lead compensating output suddenly goes up, and since the guide vane opening command becomes enlarged before rotational speed starts to go down, any drop in the rotational speed is checkable. On the other hand, when the generated output command gets lowering, the rotational speed can be restrained from its going up.

CONSTITUTION:A phase detector 9 detects a slip phase thetas between the voltage phase thetav of an AC power system 1 and the rotary phase thetar of an AC exciting synchronous machine. An exciting current controller 14 controls a thyristor power converter 8 connected to the secondary side current of the machine 5 on the basis of a vertical axis current command Id, a lateral axis current command Iq and the slip phase thetas. On the other hand, an overslip detector 24 turns OFF a synchronous closure breaker 4 and an input side breaker 2 when a slip frequency fs represented by the difference between a system fre quency and a rotary frequency becomes excessive, and turns ON a thyristor switch 25. After a predetermined period of time, the gate of the converter 8 is blocked.

Then, a breaker 9 is closed to connect a shortcircuiting circuit 10 to shortcircuit the primary winding 3, the AC power of low frequency is simultaneously applied from the converter 11 to AC-excite the secondary winding. Accordingly, an induction machine 2 operates as a generator up to the synchronizing speed determined by the exciting frequency of the secondary winding, and the rotary energy of the machine 2 and a pump water wheel 1 is consumed by the resistances of the winding 3 and the circuit 10.
