摘要： A full text search system using a character string collation method which searches a large quantity of data using a plurality of search processing apparatuses is disclosed. This system comprises a search integration unit which divides search-target character string data into a group of character string records, allocates the divided records to one or more search processing apparatuses, transmits given character string search conditions to each search processing apparatus, and receives and integrates search results. Furthermore, this System comprises an update temporary storage unit which temporarily stores new character string records to update the search-target character string data and an update record search instruction unit which instructs the new character string records stored in the update temporary memory unit to any one of the search processing apparatuses determined in advance as a part of the search-target character string data.

摘要： A computer-readable storage medium storing a dataset sorting program is provided to sort records in a dataset into a plurality of destination groups according to a given key item specification. An item value extractor creates an item value list for every record. Then a frequent tree builder builds a frequent tree from the item value lists by finding patterns of item values that appear more often than a threshold specified by a given growth rate parameter. Each item value pattern is a leading part of an item value list with a variable length. A destination group mapper associates each node of the frequent tree with one of the plurality of destination groups. A record sorter traces the frequent tree according to the item value list of each given record, and upon reaching a particular node, puts the record into the destination group associated with that node.

摘要： In a full text search retrieval device connected to a plurality of user terminals, a received retrieval condition and terminal device information are stored in a trailing character buffer. If it is determined that a preceding retrieving process is not being performed, then a retrieval pattern variable table and a retrieval request expression variable table are generated. According to the retrieval request expression variable table, a database of the data to be searched is searched to extract a retrieval result matching the retrieval condition transmitted from each of the terminal devices, and the extracted retrieval result is transmitted to each of the plurality of terminal devices. Thus, although retrieval requests are continuously transmitted from respective users, a retrieval result can be returned to each user terminal in the same response time as in the case where a user terminal corresponds to a retrieval device.

摘要： A secret data management apparatus includes an image display unit which displays an image on a display monitor. A position/sequence input unit inputs positions of input image points on the image using an input device and inputs a sequence of the positions using the input device. An encryption unit generates encrypted data of a secret key based on the positions and the sequence from the position/sequence input unit. A secret data storage unit stores the encrypted data of the secret key from the encryption unit in a storage medium. An access allowance unit allows access to the secret key stored in the storage medium when positions of input image points on the image and a sequence of the positions, subsequently specified using the input device at a time of the access, match with the positions and the sequence from the position/sequence input unit. A decryption unit generates plain data of the secret key from the encrypted data stored in the storage medium when the access is allowed by the access allowance unit.

The liquid crystal has pixels to be driven by a signal applied through the plurality of linear electrodes and the plurality of photoconductive layers.

摘要： A system for driving a segmented type liquid crystal display comprising a thin film transistor (TFT) array including a plurality of TFTs each having a gate line, a source line, and a drain line, a pair of substrates with one carrying the thin film transistor array coupled to a plurality of segmented display electrodes and the other carrying a common electrode opposite to the segmented display electrodes, a liquid crystal material interposed between the pair of substrates. The system is characterized by a source line and drain line driving circuit for driving the source line and the drain line with a first voltage waveform and a second voltage waveform in such a manner that the ratio of the first voltage amplitude to the second voltage is so selected that both charging and discharging voltages in the forward and backward directions are zero when the TFTs are off.In another aspect of the segmented type display of the present invention, there is additionally provided a separating element for separating the thin film transistor array from the liquid crystal material. In a further aspect, the plurality of pairs of the segmented display electrodes and the common electrodes are allotted equally to each of the pair of substrates.

More particularly, the method enables double-sided rubbing on at least one of a plurality of stacked glass supports and avoids possible flaws in a rubbed surface through the utilization of a protective coating covering the rubbed surface, thus providing liquid crystal display panels with excellent image quality. The protective coating is of sufficient mechanical strength and easily removable by means of a remover.
