In a more preferable embodiment, the first pole 52 and an insulator electrically separate the two poles and, therefore, the second pole is arranged on the same interconnecting surface. A more preferable application is a cutting device which forms a hemostatic line along a cutting line by using RF energy.

Different from biopsy instruments of the prior art in which the tissue is housed in a limited lateral accepting port, the instrument 10 can take a substantially larger sample into the tissue accepting chamber. The instrument is designed to collect a sample of sufficient size for biopsy under the state of minimum invasion while minimizing or avoiding injury to the nearby parts for biopsy.
