    • The invention relates to a semiconductor element (1) for use in a thermoelectric module (10), wherein the semiconductor element (1) has ends (3) that are opposite each other and is made of an n-doped or p-doped semiconductor material (4) and at least one foreign material (5). The foreign material (5) is mixed with the semiconductor material (4) and forms a fraction of 25 to 75 vol% of the semiconductor element (1). The invention further relates to a method for producing a tubular thermoelectric module (10), comprising at least the following steps: a) providing an inner tube (16) having an axis (17), an inner circumferential surface (18), and a first outer circumferential surface (1); b) alternately arranging n-doped and p-doped semiconductor elements (1) in the direction of the axis (17); c) arranging second electrical conducting elements (30) radially on the outside of the semiconductor elements (1) such that pairs of semiconductor elements (1) arranged adjacent to each other are connected to each other in an electrically conductive manner at the outside, wherein after step c) a second outer circumferential surface (23) is formed; and d) compressing the thermoelectric module (10).
