摘要： A mount for mounting a rain sensor (22) includes a housing (14) having an access opening on first side and a port on second side for positioning adjacent an inner surface (11) of the vehicle windshield. The second side is adapted for mounting to a vehicle windshield (12), for example by a layer (18) of adhesive which is interposed between the housing (14) and the windshield (12). Optionally, the housing (14) includes an access opening and a cover (30), which and covers the access opening. A mirror mounting button (35) is provided on either the housing (14) or the cover (30) for mounting a rearview mirror assembly (40) to the mount. A biasing member (32) is supported in the housing (14) and is interposed between the first side of the housing (14) and a rain sensor (22) positioned in the housing (14), which urges a detecting surface of the rain sensor (22) to project through the port and to optically couple the rain sensor (22) to the vehicle windshield (12) for detecting moisture on an outer surface (13) of the vehicle windshield. The biasing member (32) may comprise, for example, a helical spring or a urethane disc.

The information display (22) can be provided in either the chin or eyebrow area of the rearview mirror housing (12b), in the end of the mirror housing, or, alternately, in the field of view of the reflective mirror element itself or as a combination thereof. Such rearview mirror assemblies can be used in combination with a rearview mirror support (16) and information display assembly including a rigid mirror stay (14) preferably having a mirror support (16) for independently adjustably mounting the rearview mirror assembly, and may also include a breakaway mount which releasably couples the stay and the supported rearview mirror assembly to a windshield mounted button or a header mounted base such that the entire assembly is released upon impact. The information display is especially useful to provide the operational status of the Passenger Side Inflatable Restraint (PSIR) or air bag.

摘要： A vehicular vision system includes a driver-side exterior mirror assembly, a passenger-side mirror assembly and an interior mirror assembly. The fields of view of the mirror reflective elements of the exterior mirror assemblies are adjustable by the driver via a respective actuator. The exterior mirror assemblies include respective cameras that each have a respective rearward field of view that supplements the field of view of the mirror reflective element when viewed by the driver of the vehicle. A video display is disposed behind the mirror reflector of an interior mirror reflective element such that displayed video images are viewable through the mirror reflector of the interior mirror reflective element. The video display includes a driver-side display portion and a passenger-side display portion that each display images derived from image data captured by the respective camera while not displaying images derived from image data captured by the other camera.

摘要： The present invention relates to electrochromic polymeric solid films, manufacturing electrochromic devices using such solid films and processes for making such solid films and devices. The rearview mirror assembly (10) includes a reflective element (14), at least one electrical component mounted to the reflective element (14), and a case (12) housing the reflective element (14) and the electrical component. An electronic control module (22) is supported by the case (12) which communicates with the electrical component. Preferably, the electronic control module (22) is supported by a housing that is either molded with the case (12) or welded to the inner surface of the case to support the electronic control module (22) independently from the electrical component.

Preferably, the exterior mirror and/or cap assembly (314) and door frame include corresponding electrical connectors for connecting electrical accessories of the accessory module to a door wiring or harness. Preferably, the exterior accessory module and the connectors for the door assembly are correspondingly formed to easily snap or otherwise secure together, such that the mirror and/or cap assembly may be snapped to the modular door, with the components of the cap assembly, such as an exterior mirror assembly, window frame and seals, and/or door handle, also being snapped or otherwise easily attached to their respective mounts or connectors.
