    • An HMD system including an image data module, which includes an enabling unit and a data unit, as well as a display module that can be mounted on the head of a user and is connected to the image data module via a bidirectional communication channel. The enabling unit transmits an enabling request to the display module via the communication channel, and the display module transmits an enabling code via the communication channel in response to the enabling request. The enabling unit verifies the validity of the enabling code, prevents transmission of image data from the data unit to the display module if an invalid enabling code is present and allows transmission of image data from the data unit to the display module if a valid enabling code is present. The display module presents an image based on the transmitted image data to the user wearing the display module on his head.

    • The present invention is directed to an arrangement and a method for eye examination and/or for determining biometric eye data in which the movement of the eyes is compensated through the use of an eye tracker unit. The arrangement comprises a controllable digital illumination unit and an observation system which are arranged on separate supporting arms. A central control unit has connections to an image recording unit, an optical imaging system, an eye tracker unit and an output unit. Further, transmitter elements and/or actuating drives are provided at the separate supporting arms, at the zoom system and at the magnification changer. The examination can be adapted in an optimal manner to the task at hand by means of the structured illumination patterns that can be generated in a variable manner. Detection of all adjusting parameters relevant for recording can be used for calculations and for reconstructing the pertinent observation conditions. In case of repeated examinations for determining changes, e.g., during the recovery process following eye surgery, the regions can be found again in a simple manner and examined under exactly the same conditions.

    • Before the exposure of a film, the brightness of the miscroscope image is determined with a sensor by multiple constant (.tau.) which characterizes the dependence of the microscope image with time is determined. The film is subsequently exposed for a single exposure time (D.sub.c) which takes into account the dependence with time of the microscope image. The process is particularly suitable for microphotography of fluorescence pictures with fluorescence which bleaches out (fading). By the display of both the time constant (.tau.) and also the required exposure time, it can be estimated in advance, before exposure of the film, whether the dependence of the fluorescence on time permits microphotography with a sufficient exposure of the film, in the microscope conditions which have been set. A multiple exposure of the film is not required. A photodiode is provided for exposure measurement, and its photocurrent is integrated over time, the integration time being varied in dependence on the exposure measurement signal.
