    • A method of controlling cooling fluid provisioning in a room housing a plurality of components. The room includes at least one plenum having one or more cooling system components configured to vary a characteristic of at least one of cooling fluid supply to and removal from the room. In the method, location aware sensors are positioned at various locations in the room and their locations are determined. One or more conditions are detected with the location aware sensors and it is determined whether to manipulate at least one of the one or more cooling system components to modify a characteristic of cooling fluid contained in the plenum based upon the detected one or more conditions. In addition, at least one of the one or more cooling system components is manipulated in response to a determination to that the at least of the one or more cooling system components is to be modified.

    • An apparatus and method for the automatic positioning of information access points. An electronically connected individual (ECI) passes within range of a first information access point (IAP) and obtains location information. Subsequently, the ECI passes within range of a second IAP which hitherto does not have any location information. The location for this second IAP can be estimated based on the location obtained from the first IAP, elapsed time, and the individual's estimated velocity vector. As the ECI passes by a third IAP, the location, elapsed time, and estimated velocity vector data corresponding to the third IAP can be used to refine the location of the second IAP. Over time, the location of the second IAP can be successively refined as ECI's move between IAP's.

    • A phone-enabled Internet access system is described. The access system includes an Internet-enabled rendering system coupled to an external Internet to render web pages received via the Internet. The access system also includes a dial-up server coupled to the Internet and a telephone network to receive a voice signal from a remote telephone via the telephone network. The voice signal contains a first web address indicating a desired web page and a second web address indicating the Internet-enabled rendering system on which the desired web page is to be rendered. The dial-up server extracts the web addresses from the voice signal and causes the desired web page to be retrieved from a remote web site to the rendering system via the external Internet for rendering. A phone-enabled Internet access gateway system is also described.

    • The present invention relates to a mechanism for adaptive run time compilation of traces of program code to achieve efficiency in compilation and overall execution. The mechanism uses a combination of interpretation and compilation in executing byte code. The mechanism selects code segments for compilation based upon frequency of execution and ease of compilation. The inventive mechanism is able to compile small code segments, which can be a subset of a method or subroutine, and comprising only single path execution. The mechanism thereby achieves efficiency in compilation by having less total code as well as having only straight line, or single path execution, code to compile.

    • A method and system of tracking documents uses tags and a workflow. Initially, a workflow is developed for each document or type of documents using a state diagram. The workflow specifies a subset of one or more destinations that the document is allowed to travel and a sequence for this travel. A tag is associated with each document to enable tracking of the document as it passes the one or more readers in the various destinations. These tag readers in turn report back position information on the document to assist in locating the document. A comparison between the state diagram for the workflow and the position information gathered from the tag readers determines if the document is outside the desired workflow. An alert is generated when the document is outside the workflow and not being processed as intended.
