摘要： A data card terminal, such as a credit card transaction terminal, is disclosed. The terminal includes a transaction terminal comprising an embossed character reader and magnetic stripe reader, with a separate signature capture printer. The transaction terminal is operative for detecting the physical presence of a data card during a card transaction. The embossed character reader employs a tactile imager and pattern recognition for detecting the embossed characters on the data card. A signature capturing printer prints a paper receipt, which is signed by a cardholder at a signature capturing window on the printer. A signature capturing system digitizes and compresses signals corresponding to the signature of the card holder. Transaction data including compressed signature signals and signals indicative of the presence of the card are transmitted to the host computer system of a transaction processor, who guarantees the transaction as chargeback-protected under certain circumstances. Also disclosed are methods for operation of the terminal, and methods for operation of transaction processor systems responsive to signals from the terminal, such as providing chargeback protected transactions and providing electronic and off-line transaction authorizations.

The framework may include a content delivery network, distinct from the subscriber server network, wherein, in response to a request to resolve a hostname, the domain name server provides at least one addresses of a server in the content delivery network based at least on the location of the requestor and other policy considerations. An address returned by the domain name server is selected based on one or more of: (a) geographic policies; (b) load share policies; (c) overflow policies; and (d) network aware policies.

摘要： A method is given for completing an interval of an open-hole injection well penetrating a subterranean formation when the interface between the wellbore and the formation includes a zone invaded by a filter cake that includes bridging materials and other embedded solid materials. The method includes the steps of injecting a clean-up fluid and contacting it with the filtercake for a period of time sufficient to loosen some of the other solids embedded in the filter cake; removing the loosened solids by a high-rate displacement fluid containing suspending additives; and then injecting a dissolving fluid containing a diverter and an effective amount of a salt or acid capable of dissolving the bridging material.
