    • PURPOSE: A mold for continuously casting slab is provided which is capable of preventing cracks on the surface of casting slab and cracks on the chamfer surface by forming a chamfer surface on corners of casting slab and compensating mold inclination of the chamfer surface. CONSTITUTION: The mold comprises a long side mold, and a short side mold(24) slantly installed to adjust width of the casting slab, a main body(24a) and a projection part(24b) for forming chamfer surface on corners of the casting slab are integrally installed at both end parts of a main body of the short side mold, and a surface of the projection part contacted with the casting slab is formed in an inclination plane so that the projection part casts the casting slab in such a way that the casting slab is getting inclined to an inner side as it goes from an upper side to a lower side of the chamfer surface of the casting slab, wherein an inclination ratio of the short side mold is 0.9 to 1.2%, an angle (θ) between an upper contact side (a) with the body of the short side mold at the projection part and an upper side (c) of inclination plane at the projection part is 30 to 60 degrees, and a perpendicular distance (y) from the upper side of the inclination plane at the projection part to a lower side of the inclination plane is 0.54 to 5 mm.

    • PURPOSE: A method for inspecting quality of a slab and a method for controlling a caster are provided to use a central segregation index in an online assembly line by obtaining the central segregation index through measuring an abrasive area. CONSTITUTION: An abrasive solution is fabricated by diluting ammonium persulphate in distilled water(S40). Then, a slab sample is obtained from a slab produced from a caster(S41). Then, a surface of the slab sample is eroded by using the abrasive solution, which is fabricated by diluting ammonium persulphate in distilled water(S42). After that, an abrasive area is measured by measuring an image of an abrasive surface of the slab sample(S44). Then, a central segregation index is calculated by comparing the abrasive area with the surface of a measured image(S45).
