摘要： The present invention relates to a point of sale (POS) system, and more particularly to a POS system which, when a payment is made with a credit card through a POS terminal, sequentially receives two or more fingerprints of a user from the POS terminal, configures a fingerprint combination code, transmits the fingerprint combination code to a payment server as a virtual card number recognized by the credit card having an effective number by a VAN server, allows the payment server to search for credit card information corresponding to the fingerprint combination code to make a payment, thereby reinforcing security and allowing a non-card payment, and a method of driving the same. The present invention provides a POS system using sequential fingerprint inputs in which, if a user selects an account trade using a bankbook using a fingerprint or a credit card trade for a POS and inputs a plurality of fingerprints in a predetermined order through a fingerprint identification unit, the fingerprint identification unit reads the input fingerprints and provides identification codes for the POS terminal in the input order, and generates a virtual card number identified by a credit card having a number available in the VAN server using the identification codes of the sequential fingerprint inputs provided from the fingerprint identification unit, and if payment data including the virtual card number is reconfigured and are transmitted to a payment server, the payment server searches a fingerprint card subscriber DB for a fingerprint combination code to read a corresponding credit card number, reads and extracts credit card information from the card subscriber DB using the read credit card number, and transmits an approval of the payment to the POS terminal, and a method of driving the same.
