A device for color interpolation of an interlace scanning-type CMYG color format includes an area discriminating part(160) for discriminating an area, to which a sampling unit belongings, between flat and boundary areas, wherein the sampling unit consists of the two pixels adjacent to each other in the vertical direction of a photoelectric transformation element and will be interpolated. A linear interpolation part(170) carries out linear interpolation for the sampling unit to output luminance signals and/or color difference signals. A weighting factor calculating part(180) calculates a weighting factor of adjacent sampling units, which are used for weighting interpolation of the sampling unit that is discriminated as belonging to the boundary area in the area discriminating part. A weighting interpolation part(190) carries out weighting interpolation for the discriminated sampling unit by using the calculated weighting factor, thereby outputting luminance signals and/or color difference signals.
