    • A stator for a rotary electric machine has a plurality of core bodies arranged in an annular shape and held by a circular cylindrical holding ring. Each of core teeth included in the respective core bodies includes a tooth portion which radially extends when the core tooth is attached to the holding ring, and around which a coil is wound. The core tooth includes a back yoke portion which circumferentially extends and is connected to the radially outward side of the tooth portion. The outer circumferential surface of each of the back yoke portions has a protruded portion at the circumferential center thereof and has recessed portions at opposite circumferential ends thereof. The protruded portion protrudes radially outwardly from a reference circle located a predetermined distance apart from the axial center of a stator, and the recessed portion is recessed radially inwardly from the reference circle.
