    • For the purpose of providing a differential with wide range of variable gear ratio and high level of locking coefficient, the present invention concerns a limited slip differential of variable gear ratio type. The periodic change of gear ratio between planet pinions and side gears results in the torque distribution on both the side gears being a periodic function of the rotating angle of the planet pinions thereby limiting the slip on a single wheel. The present device includes a differential case containing a cross shaft or a simple shaft and the planet pinions/side gears assembly of variable gear ratio. In operation, the gear ratio between planet pinions and side gears varies with the period of at least two pitches. The number of pitches in a ratio-varying period should be in accordance with the common divisor of the number of teeth of the planet pinion and the side gear. Each ratio-varying period concerns a set of teeth in which the number of teeth corresponds to the said number of pitches. The combined turning range contributed by all teeth in each set of teeth equals to the total rotating angle of the planet pinion or the side gear within one ratio-varying period. The present invention is adaptable to go-anywhere vehicles, dump trucks and construction machinery, for example wheel loaders or dozers.

    • A nutation reducer, to solve a problem that a knuckle bearing adopted in existing nutation reducers to perform nutation movement is complicate in structure, its volume is large, leading to low power density. A nutation reducer in this application includes: a case, two pairs of nutation gear pairs, each pair being disposed in the case and composed of a nutation gear and non-nutation gear in engagement, and the non-nutation gear being fixed in the case or integrated formed in the case; an output shaft, rotationally disposed in the case; two annular spring films, each nutation gear of the gear pair is connected to the output shaft through one annular spring film; a nutation generating mechanism disposed in the case, two nutation gear pairs being respectively disposed on both sides of the nutation generating mechanism. Power-split arrangement is applied in this application, symmetric layout of the nutation gear pairs is adopted. In this way, the working efficiency of the reducer is obviously improved, meanwhile the volume and weight of the reducer, and the heat generated in working process are reduced, and power density is improved.

The gear pair is formed by a pin gear (400) and a non-instantaneous-pole enveloping gear (500) in meshing engagement with each other, the effective tooth surface of the pin gear (400) being constructed of an elliptical cone segment (b) that is outwardly convex, and the distance between the highest and lowest points on the elliptical cone segment (b) in the same cross-section gradually decreases inwardly along the generatrix of the reference cone of the pin gear. The disclosure uses the elliptical cone segment (b) as the effective tooth surface of the pin gear (400) meshing with the non-instantaneous-pole enveloping gear (500), resulted in increased effective width of the tooth surface and load capacity of the teeth, lowering the wear of the effective tooth surfaces.

    • This invention relates to a type of fluctuating gear-ratio limited-slip differential, the object of the invention is to provide a type of differential which is characterized by larger fluctuating range in gear ratio and higher torque bias ratio. By means of periodic fluctuation in the gear ratio between the planet and side gears, the torque distribution between two side gears becomes a periodic function of the angle of rotation of the planet gears, so that the slip on one side of the driving wheels is limited. The differential comprises a differential case, a cross or straight pinion shaft fixed within the differential case, plural pinions, and a pair of side gears situated within the differential case engage with the pinion gears with fluctuated gear ratio, the period of the gear ratio between the pinion and side gears involves at least two pitches, and the number of pitches involved in each period are corresponding to the common factor in the number of teeth in both pinion and side gears. Each period of the gear ratio fluctuation involves a group of teeth, and the number of teeth involved in each group are corresponding to the number of pitches involved in each period, the combined working range of the teeth involved in each group covers the whole working range of both the pinions and side gears involved in a period of gear ratio. This invention is particularly suitable for off road vehicles, tippers, wheeled loaders and bulldozers, and other kind of wheeled civil engineering machinery.
