摘要： Provided is a radio communication system and method for a multimedia broadcast and multicast (MBMS) service in which when a terminal having set a dedicated channel in an SRNC moves and is then connected to an RNC by which an MBMS service can be supported, the RNC to which the terminal has moved notifies the terminal whether the MBMS service is available, and accordingly the terminal can select a desirable service (i.e., a previous service or the MBMS service) according to a state thereof on the basis of the corresponding information, whereby it is possible to solve the problem in the conventional art in which the terminal can not receive information of its desirable service and thus can not receive the service, by providing the terminal that can not receive both two dedicated channels (i.e., does not have sufficient capability) with information of a new service.

摘要： A method and apparatus for providing a point-to-multipoint service (MBMS) to a mobile terminal UE (2) that moves from an area controlled by a first radio network controller SRNC (10) to an area controlled by a second radio network controller DRNC (10) is provided. Information regarding a transmission mode status indicating either a point-to-point or point-to-multipoint communication mode supported by the said second radio network controller DRNC (10) is returned to the first radio network controller SRNC (10) and said information is utilized there to determine if it is necessary to transmit MBMS data to the second radio network controller DRNC (10). MBMS data is transmitted from the first radio network controller SRNC (10) to the second radio network controller DRNC (10) via lur-interface only if the transmission status of the second radio network controller DRNC (10) is point-to-point, thereby preventing unnecessary data transmission between the first and second radio network controller and enhancing the efficiency of the radio resources between the second radio network controller DRNC (10) and the mobile terminal UE (2).

The method includes: receiving a handover command message from a first base station, the handover command message including a timing alignment value for adjusting uplink timing of a secondary serving cell of a second base station; performing handover from the first base station to the second base station based on the handover command message; adjusting the uplink timing of the secondary serving cell of the second base station based on the timing alignment value; and performing a random access through the secondary serving cell of the second base station based on the adjusted uplink timing.
