    • An electric generator includes a housing with a stator positioned thereabout. A rotor (i.e., magnetic member) is positioned within the housing and is adapted to move within the housing in response to a pulsed air input, such as from a pulsed-air exhaust device. The pulsed air input creates a pressure chamber between the pulsed air input and the magnetic member, which forces the magnetic member to axially advance in a first direction through the housing to magnetically interact with the stator to generate electric current therein. A biasing member may be positioned within the housing and in operative communication with the magnetic member. The magnetic member may compress the biasing member in the first direction, but the biasing member may exert a spring-back force against the magnetic member to force the magnetic member in a second direction through the stator to magnetically interact therewith to generate additional electric current therein.

    • The present invention concerns an apparatus and a corresponding method for non-contact identifying of red tissue structures in products of slaughtered animal bodies, comprising a conveying device for continuous conveyance of the products in a conveying direction, a light source configured to generate a flat light field which is designed and adapted to form a light line running transversely to the conveying direction of the product from the flat light field, a detecting device for identifying the red tissue structures, which comprises at least one optical sensor for recording the portions of light reflected by the product, wherein the light source is configured as an infrared light source and the light source is arranged such that the plane of the flat light field relative to the conveying direction is tilted by a light field angle of less than 90°. The invention also concerns an arrangement for removal of a strip of red tissue structures from products of slaughtered animal bodies, comprising the apparatus for non-contact identifying of red tissue structures, a cutting device for partial or complete removal of the red tissue structures from the products, and a control device (both of the latter not shown) designed and adapted to control the cutting device along the regions determined by the apparatus for non-contact identifying of the red tissue structures.

    • A method and apparatus for the inspection of electrically conductive components is described. The described apparatus comprises a sensor module having a magnetizer unit suitable for generating a variable DC magnetic field within the test component and an eddy current probe. The variable DC magnetic field and eddy current probe are configured to perform a partial saturation eddy current test upon the test component. The eddy current probe further comprises a magnetic field sensor that provides a means for measuring the permeability within the test component. Employing the magnetic field sensor provides apparatus that is more accurate and flexible in its modes of operation since such sensors provide a means for the actual permeability of a material being tested to be measured. The described methods and apparatus find particular application in the inspection of tubular components used in the oil and gas exploration and production industries.
