    • A fire sprinkler support assembly includes a leg configured to extend transverse to each of a pair of adjacent parallel spaced beams. The leg includes levered clamp assemblies that are configured for connecting and supporting each end of the leg to a corresponding one of the beams. The levered clamp assemblies include a first plate and a second plate, each plate configured to straddle the beam. The levered clamp assemblies also include a lever assembly. The lever assembly includes a rod passing through corresponding rod openings in the first and second plates, and a lever pivotally connected to one end of the rod. The lever includes a cam surface disposed adjacent to the first plate. The lever assembly is configured to reduce spacing between the plates upon actuation of the lever, whereby the leg is secured to the beam.

    • A low voltage protection device that includes a silicon substrate comprises an inner layer of a first dopant type.     • A security system including a main control unit, a plurality of sensors and a user interface device. The main control unit communicates with a remote central monitoring station when a sensor detects an alarm event. Once the communication signal from the main control unit is successfully transmitted to the central station, a siren is sounded. Thus, the delay time to trigger the siren is dynamic based on the time it takes for successful transmission of an alarm notification to the central station. This dynamic delay accounts for transmission interruptions between the security system and the central station and allows the location of the main unit and/or the siren from being detected prior to successful alarm transmission to the central station.

    • An approach for coordinating backlight intensity and image luminance changes. For one aspect, in response to determining that a display-related event has occurred during a vertical frame period indicating a subsequent change associated with at least one of a backlight intensity and a frame buffer palette is to be undertaken, an interrupt is enabled. During subsequent interrupt processing, associated changes to the backlight intensity and the frame buffer palette are applied in a coordinated manner. For a specific implementation, an approach is provided for a graphics controller driver to synchronize response to changes in display backlight, color-space controls, and in the luminance of images, wherein said changes can come from different sources, occur at a different rates, and have different latencies, for the purpose of applying graphics settings responses such that those effects occur at a visually co-incident interval so as to substantially minimize discordant visual artifacts.
