    • The disclosure relates to a crease-lined packaging laminate (20) which makes for more distinct and well-formed fold edges and thereby packaging containers with an attractive appearance and good configurational stability and handling stability, as well as a simple method of providing a packaging laminate with crease lines, which makes for more rational, and more economical changing of crease line patterns without the employment of expensive creasing tools. A packaging laminate (20) comprising at least two layers (11, 12) which both contribute to the total rigidity of the packaging laminate is provided with fold indications in that the adhesion between the two layers is reduced or eliminated along the linear regions along which the packaging laminate is to be folded. Since both of the layers can be deformed more independently of one another along the linear adhesion-reduced fold regions (14), the total flexural resistance of the packaging laminate is less in these regions than in the rest of the packaging laminate. The adhesive bonding strength between the two layers (11, 12) may, for example, be reduced by applying an adhesion-counteracting agent on one or both of the layers within the linear crease line regions, or by applying an adhesion-promoting agent in the regions outside these crease line regions. In particular, the adhesion may be reduced by bringing the two layers to surface fusion with one another by the supply of heat to regions outside the crease lines. For example, the surfaces in the regions outside the crease lines may be darkened or blackened in order to absorb more heat than the relatively lighter crease line regions.

    • The invention relates to a safety arrangement in a package turning device. The package turning device is of the type which turns selected packages (1) which are conveyed on a conveyor path (2) through the package turning device. The package turning device essentially comprises a piston and cylinder assembly (3) whose piston rod (6) is disposed to move parallel with the conveyor path (2), a turning member (4) and a gripping member (5).The safety arrangement includes an anchorage (7) disposed on the piston rod (6) of the piston and cylinder assembly (3), and a bracket (8). The bracket (8) is disposed to support the turning member (4) and the gripping member (5). The anchorage (7) and the bracket (8) are united in spring-biased fashion and enclose between them a cavity (10). An incoming air conduit (13) and an outgoing air conduit (14) are connected to the cavity (10). A pressure guard is disposed on the outgoing air conduit (14). The cavity (10) is closed in the normal operation of the package turning device. When the gripping member (5) is subjected to a force A, a gap (18) occurs between the anchorage (7) and the bracket (8) and the pressure in the cavity (10) becomes zero. The pressure guard on the outgoing air conduit (14) emits a signal to the control system of the package turning device and the movement of the piston rod (6) is arrested immediately.

    • Packaging containers of single-use disposable type which are manufactured from flexible paper/plastic laminate normally display sealing fins (3) which extend over one or more of the walls (2) of the packaging container (1). In parallelepipedic packaging containers, triangular corner flaps (4) moreover occur over which extend the sealing fins (3). The corner flaps are folded down and secured on the final formation of the packaging container against its side wall. This however entails that the material with many times thickness must be double-folded, which entails deformations and stretching which damages the packaging material so that this no longer remains completely liquid-tight and gas-tight. According to the invention, the above-outlined drawbacks may be obviated in that the fibre layer included in the material is heated to a temperature of between 80 and 250°C in the fold region, whereby the material softens so that the downward folding of the corner flaps together with subjacent parts of the sealing fin (3) may take place without the material being damaged. The liquid-tightness and gas-tightness of the finished packaging container will hereby be considerably improved, which is crucially important in the packaging of, for example, liquid foods.

    • The disclosure relates to an apparatus in an adjustable creasing tool (1). The creasing tool (1) includes two mutually co-operating creasing rollers, a male roller (2) and a female roller (3), a gear wheel transmission with a housing (8) for operation and mutual co-ordination of the creasing rollers (2, 3), means for adjusting the mutual position of rotation of the two creasing rollers (2, 3), means for adjusting the position of one of the creasing rollers along its axis of rotation, and means for adjusting the mutual spacing between the axes of rotation (4, 5) of the creasing rollers. Each respective shaft (4, 5) is fixedly connected to each respective gear wheel (6, 7) in the gear wheel transmission by means of rotationally rigid, both radially and axially limited, flexible couplings (9). These permit adjustment of the mutual positioning of the rollers (2, 3) without the meshing relationship of the transmission (8) needing to be affected. For adjustment of the mutual position of rotation of the rollers (2, 3), the transmission housing (8) may be restrictedly rotatably fixed in the frame of the creasing tool (1) about one of the shafts (4, 5) of the transmission.
