    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable terminal device having a security function that ensures convenience when it is used after being moved.SOLUTION: A use end event indicating an end of use is generated at time ts. A use start event indicating a start of use is generated at time tf. A movement preparation time ta that is the time between the time ts and a time ta1 at which the binarized acceleration changes from the first value to the second value, is measured at a start stage S1. If the movement preparation time exceeds a threshold t1, user authentication is prompted in response to the occurrence of a use start event. When it is determined that a portable terminal device is in its owner's hand at all stages S1 to S3 based on the acceleration and time, user authentication is omitted.

The client 11a transmits plural authentication packets to the client 11c at a slot interval according to an authentication code generated based on the password. The client 11c compares the measured slot interval with the generated authentication code.
