    • According to the invention, a compact, operational retro-fit drive plant, for installation in the base of the bow or stern of various types of marine vehicle, in particular of displacement types, which serves for maneuvering and travelling at cruising speed on normal and particularly flat stretches of water, with a simple and economically produced water jet drive (1), having a propeller pump (8), for various types of engine and installations, which generates an efficient and completely controllable propeller thrust with optimised propeller approach flow and flat water capability, can be achieved, whereby the propeller shaft (11) of the water jet drive (1) is arranged on the pressure side of the propeller pump (8) in a conventional 90 DEG elbow tube (6), the rotational axis (9) of the propeller is neither vertical nor horizontal, but has an inclination angle alpha of 20 DEG to 50 DEG , preferably between 25 DEG and 40 DEG relative to the baseplate (20) as a horizontal base and at the other end (14) of the elbow tube (6), which points downwards at an angle, an outlet housing section (7) is connected thereto and provided with a rotating base deflector array (16), in order to have control in all directions over the exit jet and thus the propeller thrust under the base of the water jet drive (1).

    • An automatic intravenous flow regulator for regulating the infusion rate of a parenteral solution flowing from an intravenous fluid container to a patient. When the level of parenteral solution in the container is above a threshold level, the infusion takes place at a first flow rate. When the level of fluid in the container drops below the threshold level, fluid flow continues but at a second flow rate less than the first flow rate. In one embodiment, the flow rate is controlled principally from outside the IV container; while, in a second embodiment, the flow rate is controlled from within the IV container. Other embodiments are disclosed including onein which the initial flow rate may be adjusted; one in which the fluid is filtered prior to delivery to the patient; and one in which the initial flow rate is maintained at a constant value with time, secondary flow rate remains fixed, and complete filtration of the intravenous solution being infused is provided.

    • Wärmetauscher hoher Leistung sowie hoher Hygieneansprüche werden aus Stahl gefertigt und verzinkt. Es wurde gefunden, daß beim Aufbau der wärmeübertragenden Rippen (7) anstelle von Lamellen durch vielreihige Platinen (19 bis 21,23 bis 25) ein stabiler und resistenter Aufbau erreicht wird. Durch alternierenden Einsatz von Platinen (7) unterschiedlicher Breite lassen sich in Durchsatzrichtung der zu kühlenden Luft unterschiedliche Teilungsabstände der Platinen (7) erreichen, ohne daß eine entsprechende Anzahl von als Ausgleichszonen wirksamen Lücken erforderlich wird. Durch das Entfallen oder erhebliche Reduzieren der Anzahl der Lücken können diese ohne wesentliche Beeinträchtigung der thermischen Leistung so weit gehalten werden, daß beim Verzinken Metallbrücken vermieden und während des Betriebes das Ansetzen von die Hygiene beeinträchtigenden Fremdkörpern unterbunden werden.
