The roller members 12 can be reciprocated between the limiting part outside the hollow chamber 9 and the limiting part inside it, and therefore, the roller members 12 can be entrained in the circumferential direction in starting on the basis of the sliding friction between the roller members 12 and between the limiting parts in the radial direction of the ring-shaped hollow chamber 9.

摘要： The gas compressor or IC engine without internal rubbing surfaces has a working chamber (21) bounded by an axially elastic, radially stiff, tubular envelope (7a) with rigid flanges (3A, 5A) at its ends. Of these one (3A) is fixed to the engine framework; the other is connected to some means of transmitting force and movement. One of the flanges also embodies valves for the cyclic renewal of the working fluid. The tubular envelope is made up of a number of dished rings (11A) so assembled that inside (15) and outside (13) edges are in contact alternately. These are joined to make gastight joints. The ring section may be flat or corrugated and alternate rings may have enlarged outside dias. to form cooling fins. V-section rings may be used to eliminate inner edge joints.
