摘要： A hybrid leaky surface acoustic wave (LSAW) resonator filter has a wide bandwidth, low insertion loss and return loss, and excellent rejection of frequencies outside the passband, and includes one or more longitudinally coupled LSAW resonator filter tracks with chirp-type resonant cavities, reflective gratings, and a plurality of interdigital transducers (IDTs) disposed end-to-end therebetween. An acoustic resonant cavity is formed between each of the IDTs and its neighboring IDTs or gratings by chirping the fingers of the IDTs in the vicinity of the cavity. A one or more LSAW impedance element filters are disposed upon the same substrate and connected in series and/or shunt with the longitudinally coupled LSAW resonator tracks. The frequencies of the LSAW impedance-element filters are chosen such that their combination with the longitudinally coupled LSAW resonator filter tracks results in the formation of deep nulls in the overall transfer function at frequencies just outside of the passband.

摘要： A branching filter is a surface acoustic wave device in which a first filter having a relatively low bandpass frequency and a second filter having a relatively high bandpass frequency are connected to a common terminal. A junction-side resonator that is included in the second filter and that is connected in closest proximity to the common terminal is connected in series. The resonant frequency fsr of the junction-side resonator is higher than the center frequency f0, which is the center of the passband, of the second filter, and is more preferably set so as to satisfy the expression: f0+BW×0.2≦fsr≦f0+BW×0.7, where BW is the bandwidth of the passband.

摘要： In a surface-acoustic-wave (SAW) device and method of fabricating the same, a SAW chip is flip-chip mounted in a package. The package has a window facing an electrode formed surface of the SAW chip. After the SAW chip is mounted, the in-process item is inserted into reactive ion etching equipment, with the window open. The substrate or electrodes of the SAW chip is etched by an etching gas introduced into the ion etching equipment. Films may be formed on the electrode formation surface, in place of etching. Thus, variation in characteristics stemming from variations in manufacturing processes can be suppressed.
