    • PURPOSE: To form a belt at a low cost without compromising the function of the belt, and provide an inexpensive tensile load removing apparatus and guide members for a pneumatic rotary drive. CONSTITUTION: The drive described comprises a casing 1 closed by a cover in a pressure tight manner, and a shaft 3 extending through at least one of a plurality of covers and guided out from the casing 1. The drive also has a belt 2 surrounding at least one of guide bodies 5, 6 arranged in the casing 1, and forming two expandable pressure medium chambers. Two belt portions can be pressed toward each other over part of the length of the belt 2 by an adjustable pressing element 4 to separate the two pressure medium chambers in a pressure tight manner. The belt 2 has two ends which are located adjacent to each other in a common plane and form one of the belt portions which are pressed together by the pressing element 4. Toothed portions 7, 8 complimentary with the toothed portion of the belt are arranged in an internal wall region which is in engagement with the belt 2 even during rotation stroke movement.

    • PURPOSE:To prevent a diaphragm from being rolled in at a brake assistor which applies a force to a power piston due to the pressure difference applied to the diaphragm by rotately mounting the inner surface of the diaphragm on the power piston. CONSTITUTION:In a tandem type brake assistor, a diaphragm support plate 17 is mounted on the rear of the front power piston 1A and an annular groove area 1Ab which support the inner surface area 2Ac of the front diaphragm 2A is formed using the outer surface area of the support plate 17 and the disk area 1Aa of the piston 1A. In this case, the end area 17a of the support plate 17 is inclined backward from the radial direction. For the rear diaphragm 2B side, an annular groove 1Bb which supports the inner surface area 2Bc is formed in a cross-sectional rectangular shape, as conventionally. Its depth is made shallow and a corner area 1Bc is formed in an arc shape. The inner surface both sides area of the inner surface area 2Bc is also formed in an arc shape to facilitate the revolution of the inner surface 2Bc.
