    • A method of making a multi-layer non-woven multiple biased fabric is disclosed. A layer of fabric is directed in a longitudinal direction of travel, wherein the layer of fabric is comprised of a plurality of structural fibers oriented substantially parallel to each other and oriented at an angle to the longitudinal center line of the fabric. The layer of fabric may or may not be previously biased. If not previously biased, then the structural yarns of the fabric are biased in a biasing stage to form a layer of single bias structural fabric having the structural fibers biased to the fabric centerline. The single biased fabric layer is led into at least one folding stage for folding the biased layer longitudinally from one edge toward another to form a multiple biased fabric. The multiple biased fabric is led from the at least one folding stage into an affixing stage for affixing the multiple biased fabric together to provide a single structural fabric being multiple biased.

    • A hand device for making a bias tape for use in dressmaking and/or tailoring comprises an outer tubular member made of metallic sheet material and formed with a substantially oval rear end opening as well as a slit-shaped front end opening, an internal solid member formed of synthetic resin material and disposed within the outer tubular member so as to provide a tape-folding passage between the outer tubular member and the internal solid member. The passage has a substantially U-shaped configuration in cross section at its rear end and is gradually changed in its configuration so as to finally provide a substantially flat annular configuration is cross section at its front end.

    • A combined portable bias tape and covered piping cord making device (10). A spindle (20) is rotatably disposed in a housing (12) of a device (10) for supporting a strip of material. Also, at least two folding tips (24) are mountable in the housing (10) - e.g., one for making bias tape and one for covering piping cord - each which can be separately mounted within the housing for making product. The device further includes a heated pressing assembly (60) disposed in the housing (10) for receiving and setting folded longitudinal edges of the strip of material. A cover (14) is configured to enclose at least the spindle (20) and part of the heated pressing assembly (60) within the housing (12) in the closed position. Multiple tips and/or parts can be interchanged depending on the size of the materials and/or the produced product (bias tape or covered piping cord).
