摘要： A firearm-securing device (30) providing tamper resistance features which device includes a keyway (10) that operates a threaded rod (140) which, in turn, controls spring-loaded cams that obstruct a tubular area including a chamber, a barrel (43), and a muzzle (42) of a firearm (40). The cams have either fixed or articulated contact pads. Operating the keyway in clockwise rotation causes the cams to wedge against the inner chamber and barrel surfaces, locking the device (30) in place. Counterclockwise keyway (10) rotation unseats the cams, allowing the device to be removed from the chamber and barrel (43) and thus allow operation of the firearm (40). The device (30) includes several components designed to minimize tampering of the device itself as well as tampering of the firearm (40).

As a result of such movement, a block member moves to engage with an engagement groove of an engagement body, so that the rotation of a cam shaft can be blocked. In addition, a lock piece enters between the block member and a cover. Even if the regulating lever is broken, the rotation of the cam shaft is blocked by the block member, and even if one attempts to move the block member in a disengagement direction, the movement of the block member is blocked by the lock piece.

摘要： A lock assembly has a lock barrel (16) which slides in a housing (10) so that a finger (18) at the end of the barrel (16) can release a latch. The lock barrel is prevented from sliding when the barrel is locked, by engagement of the finger (18) with a blocking plate (22), but the barrel is freed when the key is inserted and turned. The finger (18) is made so that it shortens if excessive axial force is applied while the barrel is locked. This shortening may be effected by including an easily rupturable connection between different sections of the finger. When the finger shortens, the connection ruptures and prevents the finger (18) from getting near the latch to release it. Once the connection has ruptured, further movement of the barrel (16) into the housing (10) will bring the barrel into contact with the outer periphery of the blocking plate (22) which is well supported.
