    • The inventive technology may retate to a retention apparatus (1) that in at least one embodiment comprises a compression sleeve element (2) established at least partially 5 around portions of a first elongated member (6) that telescopes from a larger elongated member (8) in which it may nest. As it instead may be the compression enhancement element (3) - which may be used to 10 generate a retaining compression force element - that prevents perpendicular displacement of the compression sleeve element, deactivation and effective disengagement of the compression enhancement element may allow for a quick removal of the compression sleeve element without requiring that it be slid off an end of either elongated member.

    • Locking ring consisting of a ring (5) which is slideable on a tube with a certain clearence, said ring (5) being obliquely cut at is upper and lower sides so that the ring (5) can tilt on the tube and thus lock thereon. The cutting of the ring has been done in such a manner that the ring (5) will squeeze onto the tube by the areas (15, 15') before any other part of the ring (5) comes into contact with the tube. The ring is moreover provided with faces (13, 14) which may co-operate with means for tilting and straightening the ring (5). There is thus obtained a locking ring which can stand heavy loads there being applied a squeezing force and said force being exerted on the tube by the two areas lying diametrically opposite each other.
