摘要： A sheet feeder comprises a feed deck for supporting a stack of sheets (65) to be fed. The feed deck may be formed by a bed of freely spinning rollers. A feed block (62) comprises a friction pad (66) that projects from the bottom of the feed block (62) towards a drive belt (42) to define a gate therebetween. The drive belt (42) frictionally engages the underside of a bottom sheet of the stack (65) and urges the sheet towards the gate. The feed block (62) comprises a front face (72) immediately upstream from the gate, which is inclined at a sharp angle to the feed direction. The friction pad (66) comprises a lower face that is substantially parallel to the feed direction and does not intersect the plane of the feed block front face (72).

摘要： An empty bag supply method and apparatus first lifting up with a first suction member (4) an empty bag (2) of which bag bottom being in contact with and positioned by a first positioning stopper (18). The lifted bag (2) is then held by chucks (35, 62) and transported upwards so that the empty bag is vertical with the bag bottom facing upward, and then a second suction member (6) suctions the empty bag near the bag mouth and transports it onto a conveyor (14) with the bag mouth facing forward, so that the bag mouth of the bag is stopped and positioned by a second positioning stopper (49). The empty bag is then lifted up by a third suction member (9), held by a chuck (35, 62) and transported upward so that the attitude of the bag is changed to vertical with the bag mouth facing upward, and then the bag is transferred to a gripper (1) of a packaging apparatus.

摘要： A multi-ream paper sheet feeder (21) for use with high speed copiers, printing machines and the like "host machines" (27) has a sturdy frame (22) supporting an upwardly sloping ramp (29) overlying a motor driven feed screw (57). A pusher plate (47) drives a feed block (31) of as many as thirty reams of edgewise stacked paper sheets up the ramp to a singulating feed assembly (24,105). A feed screw drive nut carriage (51) engages and drives the pusher plate up ramp, then disengages, retracts under the ramp and travels to a new start position at the ramp's lower end. Sensors and limit switches (87,88) govern forward and reverse feed screw motor (M) operation; another sensor governs the operation of the singulating feed assembly (24,105), delivering shingled sheets on demand to the feeder's infeed tray (26). The entire sheet feeder is track-mounted, latched in feed position, disengageable for retraction away from the host machine when desired.
