    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To safely cut a large waste tire with small power, by a small structure, not taking time.SOLUTION: A waste tire cutting method cuts a waste tire (XA1) into pieces by cutting the waste tire sequentially from the outer periphery thereof, the waste tire (XA1) having bead wires (XA2) embedded in the inner peripheral portion thereof. The waste tire cutting method is provided with: a cutting step which cuts the waste tire (XA1) by moving, at the portion of the waste tire (XA1) which is on the outside of the bead wires (XA2) in the radial direction, a cutting blade (YA1) forward and backward in the width direction of the tire; and a waste tire rotating step which, when the cutting blade (YA1) is retracted, rotates the waste tire (XA1) so that the position at which the waste tire (XA1) is cut moves in the circumferential direction of the waste tire (XA1). The cutting step and the waste tire rotating step are sequentially repeated.
