摘要： A domestic range of the electric type includes a cooking platform providing a plurality of "burner" locations constituted by pancake-shaped surface heating elements formed of spirally wound resistance wire. An elongated boxlike control unit extends upwardly from and across the back edge of the cooking platform. An oven chamber of the pyrolytic self-cleaning type is located below the range platform and includes radiant-type heating elements also formed of resistance wire. A heat-sink-mounted electronic module located within the control unit is protected from damaging high temperatures caused by improper operation of the range by a pair of normally closed temperature-sensitive bimetal actuated switches mounted to the module heat sink, the switches being connected in electrical series relationship between the heating elements and their electrical power source.

摘要： There is disclosed a continuous roaster assembly having a two-zoned cooling section with each zone having a gaseous effluent conduit. The effluent conduit from the first cooling zone is in fluid communication with the gaseous effluent conduit from a roasting section of the continuous roaster assembly. A portion of such combined gaseous effluent is incinerated with the remaining portion being recycled to the burner of the roaster assembly.

摘要： A hermetic refrigeration compressor has a two-stage oil pump in the vertically aligned crankshaft that is journaled in a combination thrust and radial bearing at the bottom of the crankshaft. The oil passes upward through an axial passage in the crankshaft and then outward through a radial passage which comprises the first stage of the pump. The oil then passes through a wide and shallow groove around most of the periphery of the crankshaft and is then returned through a second radial passage to another vertical passage offset from the axis of the crankshaft to move the oil upward to lubricate the various moving parts of the compressor.

摘要： The disclosure relates to apparatus for center punching a hot metal billet preparatory to a piercing operation, in the production of seamless tubing. The apparatus provides a simple, reliable, mechanical arrangement effective to automatically compensate for normal variations in the diameter of successive hot metal billets, such that the center punching operation is carried out with greater accuracy than has heretofore been attained in regular production operations. The apparatus includes means for mechanically clamping a hot metal billet preparatory to center punching, and means for axially advancing a center punching tool into the end of the clamped billet. The center punching tool itself is mounted for limited transverse movement in relation to its advancing means, and is mechanically coupled to the clamping means by a compensating mechanism. Minor transverse adjustment of the position of the center punching tool in relation to the nominal axis of the apparatus, in order to obtain greater accuracy of alignment with the actual center line of a billet, is achieved by moving the center punching tool as a function of movement of the clamping mechanism. The clamping mechanism serves inherently to sense the actual diameter of the billet which is being clamped.

摘要： The disclosure is directed to a new scrap kick-out conveyor for a continuous buttweld pipe mill installation. The pipe mill includes a scrap cut-off saw, located between the welding mill and the subsequent processing mills, and the kick-out conveyor is located downstream of the scrap saw. The conveyor includes stock advancing rolls, for supporting and advancing the pipe stock, and inboard and outboard guide rails for laterally confining the pipe. Means are provided for retracting selected portions of the outboard guide rail and for diverting selected portions of the inboard rail to lie across the pass line, such that the oncoming scrap section is diverted off of the conveyor. An inclined discharge apron is provided adjacent the outboard guide rail, leading to a scrap bin. The retractable portion of the outboard guide rail is arranged to retract downwardly, and is provided with an inclined upper surface to facilitate gravity discharge of the scrap sections.

摘要： The disclosure generally relates to a positive drive hose reel apparatus for a cooling system mounted on the linearly movable thrust block of a piercing or reeling mill. The thrust block means is adapted to move along a path between a working position and a retracted position and includes a rotatably mounted hose reel apparatus to support a flexible hose. The hose interconnects a remote water supply with the cooling system of the thrust block. A drive cable extends between and is secured at points adjacent the working position and retracted position and is partially wrapped around the hose reel apparatus, whereby the linear movement of the thrust block will impart positive rotational movement to the hose reel apparatus and thereby coil and uncoil the hose, as needed as the thrust block moves at high speed back and forth along the path.
