The control signals (c) and the information signals (d) in the optical domain are distinguishable from each other, and they are both coupled in and out in one and the same optical conductor (1, 1a). For distinguishing the control signal from the information signal the transmission modes (e.g. the wavelength or the polarization mode) thereof can be different. A distinction between the control signal and the information signal can also be effected by opposite directions of transmission; for controlling a switching device a control signal is then transmitted to the switching device via a glass fibre which at the same time serves for the transmission of information signals in an opposite direction.

摘要： The invention relates to a method, a device and a method for installing a cable in a tubular cable duct. In the method, the foremost end (3) of the cable (1) in the duct (10) and subsequent portions of the cable are first accelerated in a short time with continuous supply of further portions of cable from a torsion-free store. Then, from the instant a certain speed v is reached, the cable is maintained at a tension such that, at said speed and tension, centrifugal forces in bends and inwardly pulling components of tensioning forces in the cable compensate for one another at the position of said bends, the further portions of the cable being supplied at a supply speed such that the part of the cable already fed into the duct can continue to slide on the basis of its mass moment of inertia. The acceleration can be achieved by causing propelling forces to act on the cable upstream of the inlet end (10a) of the duct in conjunction with pulling forces which act at least on the foremost end (3) of the cable (1) in the duct. The magnitude of at least the propelling forces is controlled by adjusting to zero the net transverse force on the cable, in a bend (8; 51) in the cable located beyond the position where the propelling forces act upon the cable in the direction of movement of the cable. Advantages are that much higher installation speeds and/or greater installation lengths in one go are possible.

摘要： The invention relates to a method for compensating, in a coherent optical communication system with heterodyne detection, at the receiving side phase noise of the transmitting and of the local laser. Characteristic of the present method is that the phase-noise compensation takes place in the LF domain. The two MF heterodyne signals (Imf and Pmf) are first demodulated into LF signals (in which there is still noise), which are subsequently substracted from one another, due to which the respective noise components cancel out each other. Preferably a local laser signal which is, qua frequency, between the two other HF signals is chosen. This offers the advantage that the two MF heterodyne signals can be modulated by one and the same demodulator; because for the compensation of phase noise the demodulated MF signals (Ilf respectively Plf) which are, qua phase noise, in opposite phase with regard to each other are then added to one another. The advantage of the method according to the invention is that the bandwidth for which the receiver has to be suitable is relatively small.

摘要： A cable (5) is inserted, by way of a free end (2.1), into a tube (2) wound around a tube reel (1) which is fixed, with its winding axis (y) vertical, onto a carrier (7). The carrier with the tube reel is subjected to a periodical movement having a vertical component and a longitudinal component. The vertical component is a vertical oscillation having a period (P) and an amplitude (Av = gP /32) for an, at any rate approximately, "free-fall" movement during part of each period, preferably during half a period. The longitudinal component is an oscillating rotation around the vertical winding axis of the tube reel having the same period (P) and an amplitude (AL). The "free-fall" movement is preferably commenced when the rotational direction of the oscillating rotation is reversed and becomes backward, as opposed to the insertion direction of the cable. Three embodiments of a device are described.
