    • A recording apparatus records an image by scanning a first recording head relative to a recording medium of a particular type. The apparatus includes the first recording head, a pattern recording controller, a reader, a restoring device, a second recording head, a discriminator and a control unit. The pattern recording controller controls recording of a predetermined pattern with the first recording head at a predetermined timing either on the recording medium or on a pattern recording medium different from the recording medium. The reader reads the predetermined pattern and the restoring device performs a discharge restoring operation of the recording head. The discriminator discriminates a recording state of the first recording head, based on the predetermined pattern read by the reader. The control unit enables the second recording head to record the image to be recorded by the first recording head, in a case that after the discriminator discriminates the recording state as being poor and thereafter the discharge restoring operation performed by the restoring device and a pattern recording operation by the pattern recording controller have been executed a predetermined number of times, the discriminator has discriminated the recording state as being still poor.

    • A camera focus detecting device in which the first and the second images are respectively formed by a pair of secondary image forming lenses behind an expected focusing plane of a principal image forming lens. The focusing of the principal image forming lens is detected from position changes of the first and second images relative to a pair of photoelectric transducers on or near the focusing planes of the above pair of secondary image forming lenses so as to detect the position of the images. A first member, whose movement amount changes according to an F-number of the above principal image forming lens, and a second member, which moves in a certain determined direction when the first member moves to a certain determined position, are provided. With the movement of the second member the light shading amount of the light shading apparatus provided in front of the secondary image forming lens is changed to vary the above amount of light shading for the stepwise change of the F-number.

    • A single-lens reflex camera of the class having a main movable mirror which guides light flux coming through a photo-taking lens to a view finder, an auxiliary movable mirror which is arranged behind the main movable mirror to guide a part of the light flux to light or distance measuring device and a mirror driving mechanism which is arranged to move these movable mirrors away from a photo-taking optical path at the time of exposing a film to light is provided with an anti-mirror-bounce device comprising a first anti-bounce member which prevents the main movable mirror from bouncing by engaging the main movable mirror in response to the return of the main mirror to a point close to its original position after completion of the film exposure; and a second anti-bounce member which prevents the auxiliary mirror from bouncing by engaging the auxiliary movable mirror in response to the return of the auxiliary mirror to a point close to its original position. The anti-mirror-bounce device protects the light or distance measuring device of the camera from being affected by bounces of the movable mirrors.
