    • In switchgear with superordinate power circuit-breakers and a plurality of subordinate power circuit-breakers, the superordinate power circuit-breaker must be triggered in the event of failure of the subordinate power circuit-breakers. This is accomplished as follows: electrical post-arc currents are detected after current zero, the electrical post-arc currents are compared with a predetermined limit value, and if the limit value is exceeded, a signal is effected for triggering the superordinate power circuit-breaker in the switchgear. This method can advantageously be implemented in particular in the case of vacuum circuit-breakers with at least one vacuum interrupter. The associated arrangement has a device which monitors the subordinate power circuit-breakers and, if appropriate, triggers the superordinate power circuit-breaker.

    • With motor-driven chain saws, there is the danger that the chain saw will be thrown upwardly and rearwardly when it is applied to wood by the user with a forward thrust. Serious injuries can then occur. The invention is directed to a saw chain which is so configured that the cutting forces are automatically reduced in response to the occurrence of excessive reaction forces so that the reaction force is immediately reduced to a tolerable amount thereby eliminating the kickback effect. The drive links of the saw chain which engage into the nose sprocket of the guide bar are so dimensioned that they can further pivot in the tooth gaps of the nose sprocket out of their normal position and, in this way, take the cutting links with them in such a manner that the free angle .alpha. of the cutting teeth is reduced.

    • A method and apparatus for continuously coating a thread or core with a thermoplastic is disclosed wherein a flowing stream of the plastic, in the form of a melt or liquid monomer is used to convey the core from one or more elongated and heated guide tubes into and through one or more elongated and cooled molding tubes axially aligned with each guide tube whereby the thread or core is automatically centered in the tubes and a uniform outer coating of hardened plastic is applied. The liquid monomer can be treated with a suitable activator or catalyst before entry into the mold tubes or at an intermediate mixing zone located between the exit part of the guide tubes and the inlet part of the cooling tubes. The mixing zone is larger in volume than the tubes and provides an off-center convolution about the exit ports of the guide tubes and coaxial conical exit ports converging into the entry ports of the molding tubes.
