    • A method for the production of an esterified product which can prevent the occurrence of a gel-like substance during the separation and removal of the water formed by the reaction in the esterification reaction or during the expulsion of a dehydrating solvent by distillation after the esterification reaction by causing an antigelling agent to act on the distillate and consequently permits efficient production of the esterified product of high quality, and an apparatus therefor are to be provided. To be specific, a method for the production of an esterified product of this invention relates to a method for the production of an esterified product by the esterification reaction of an alcohol represented by the following formula (1): R1O(R2O)nH  (1) wherein R1 represents a hydrocarbon group of 1 to 30 carbon atoms, R2O represents an oxyalkylene group of 2 to 18 carbon atoms, providing that the repeating units, R2O, may be the same or different and that when the R2O's are in the form of a mixture of two or more species, the repeating units, R2O, may be added either in a block form or in a random form, and n represents an average addition mol number of oxyalkylene groups and is in the range of 0 to 300, with (meth)acrylic acid, wherein said method comprises acting an antigelling agent on a distillate.

    • A solid state imaging device detects the period of energy variation of discharge type illumination, and sets a total exposure time to match the detected period. The total exposure time is divided into alternating valid and invalid exposure times by a division ratio to make the sum of the valid exposure times equal to an actual exposure time corresponding to an actual speed of an electronic shutter. Charges accumulated in a CMOS sensor during the valid exposure times are stored in a floating diffusion, whereas charges accumulated during the invalid exposure times are drained. At the end of the total exposure time, the charges stored during the valid exposure times are converted to an electrical signal which is output to a signal processing circuit. This device can correct variation of output signals which corresponds to the illumination energy variation when the shutter is operated for imaging under high luminance illumination.

    • Adjacent pixels in a pixel circuit of an imaging device use a primary capacitance, an amplifying transistor, a reset switch and a selection switch in common. Each pixel has a photodiode and a transfer switch having first and second gates provided on the photodiode side and the primary capacitance side, respectively. In a pixel downsampling read mode, the first and second gate voltages of each pixel to be discarded are brought to high level, and thereafter the first and second gate voltages of each pixel to be read are brought to high level, to transfer charge generated in the photodiode of the pixel to be read to the primary capacitance and the photodiode in each pixel to be discarded. This enables reduction of the potential of the primary capacitance, and hence reduction of the pixel sensitivity than using only the primary capacitance to store charge transferred from the transfer switch.

    • There is disclosed an electronic switchover circuit which can eliminate noises caused when two or more input signals are electronically selected to deliver out one of these input signals. A plurality of differential amplifier sets each having first and second transistors of which the first transistor receives the input signal are provided for the circuit, and a control voltage is applied to the control terminal of a constant current source to enable only one of the plurality of differential amplifier sets to thereby deliver out the input signal applied to the one differential amplifier set while disabling the remaining differential amplifier set. The base of the first transistor of the respective differential amplifier sets is connected with a third transistor which operates in the opposite phase relationship to the associated differential amplifier set, whereby base potentials of the first transistors of the differential amplifier sets which are disabled can be kept constant.
