    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique capable of more efficiently and safely treating a discharged hydrogen gas by catalytically combusting the same. SOLUTION: A reaction chamber 22, through which the discharged hydrogen gas is allowed to flow from a gas introducing port 28 to a gas discharge port 24 and which houses a large number of reaction particles 23 at least a part of which comprises a catalyst, is provided and the fluidized bed of the reaction particles 23 is formed in the reaction chamber 22 by blowing the discharged hydrogen gas air into the reaction chamber 22 by fluidized bed forming means 56 and 58, which are provided separately from the reaction chamber 22, through the gas introducing port 28. Then, the discharged hydrogen gas is brought into contact with the reaction particles 23 in the fluidized bed to catalytically combust the discharged hydrogen gas in the presence of air.       SOLUTION: A honey-comb structured catalytic retainer 26, which havs a plurality of passages 32 surrounded by partitions 30 with a catalysis retained thereby, is fitted inside the reaction chamber 22 where the discharged hydrogen gas is circulated to occupy part of volume inside a reaction chamber 22, and to extend each of the passages 32 in the gas-flowing direction. At the same time, a lot of heat-transferring particles 27 are stored in the reaction chamber 22 in a movable manner. The discharged hydrogen gas and air are blown into the reaction chamber 22 by fluidized-bed forming means 64, 66 to form a fluidized bed of a lot of heat-transferring particles 27.
