Through the constitution above, the ink 11 is supplied to the array 13 on the base 12 to prevent the exposure of the array 13 and while preventing discharge by the electrode 13, the color agent in the ink 11 is jetted by an electrostatic force action via the electrode 13 to apply ink jet recording to a recording medium 21. Thus, it is not required to form a tip of the electrode array to be a sharp edge and a damage due to discharge of the electrode array is not caused and stable recording is made.
