摘要： The signalling overhead in cellular communication systems such as OFDMA is reduced by calculating a report value as a function of each measurement value that is to be reported from a user terminal to the network. The report value is preferably based on a maximum value for the parameter measured, and can be represented by fewer bits than the measurement value. The overhead may be further reduced by selecting only the best measurement values for reporting from the user terminal to the network.

摘要： The present invention relates to a method and an arrangement for controlling downlink power in a multi-carrier communication network system. The communication network system comprises communication network nodes (15) communicating with a plurality of user equipments (18) on uplink (17) and downlink (16) carriers over a radio interface. Downlink transmit power control commands are sent on at least one uplink control channel to support power control for a multiple of downlink carriers. Each transmit power control command is assigned a pre-determined code word known by said user equipment (18) and said communication network node (15) and/or different pre-determined slot formats, known by said user equipment (18) and said communication network node (15), are used to integrate different number of transmit power control command based on the number of used downlink and uplink carriers.

摘要： Out-of-sync and in-sync detections and downlink power control by UTRAN (10) user equipment (22) are improved in Continuous Packet Connectivity mode featuring discontinuous UL DPCCH transmission by requiring all F-DPCH transmissions from a base station (16) to the user equipment (22) to be valid during a UL DTX gated period. Additionally, the user equipment (22) receives and considers all F-DPCH transmissions during the UL DTX gated period, for power control, out-of-sync and in-sync detections. If the user equipment (22) detects an out-of- sync condition, it may immediately transmit a scheduling request to notify the network (10), temporarily or permanently annulling the discontinuous UL DPCCH transmission.
