    • A linear solenoid valve is composed of a pressure regulating section and an actuator section. In the pressure regulating section, a valve spool is slidably disposed and is biased in one direction by a single elastic member. The actuator section generates a thrust force and transmits that generated thrust force in an opposite direction to the pressure regulating section via a shaft. The actuator section is a movable magnet type linear actuator which includes three serially disposed coils and two permanent magnets disposed within the coils with like poles of the permanent magnets facing each other. The linear solenoid valve generates a stable control pressure which is large in proportion to input current, while generation of hysteresis and of radial load in the actuator section is avoided and responsiveness is improved.

    • To make it possible to search a route suitable to drive and provide guidance thereof in accordance with acceleration resistance of the vehicle, a load condition detection unit obtains reference acceleration on the basis of a throttle opening obtained by a throttle opening obtaining unit and torque of an engine obtainable from a rotational frequency of the engine detected by a first rotation sensor. The load condition detection unit compares the reference acceleration with real acceleration obtainable by differentiating a vehicle velocity obtainable by a vehicle velocity sensor to detect acceleration resistance of the vehicle. A main controller unit extracts an available road on the basis of the acceleration resistance of the vehicle and road data stored in a road data memory unit of a map data memory unit. The main controller unit searches a route by utilizing the available road thus extracted and provide guidance thereof.

    • An electromagnetic valve without an independent casing is provided. The electromagnetic valve includes the housing of a hydraulic control system in which the electromagnetic valve is functionally and physically incorporated. The housing has perpendicularly intersecting first and second wall surfaces and includes a cylindrical cavity bored into the second wall surface with the central longitudinal axis of the cavity being disposed parallel to the first wall surface. A linear groove is formed into the first wall surface perpendicularly to the center axis of the cylindrical cavity and communicates with the cylindrical cavity. A valve port, directly in the housing or in a valve seat member fitted into the housing in alignment with the central longitudinal axis of the cavity, communicates with a fluid conduit in the housing. Valve components are located in the cavity and externally of the cavity is a retainer which engages the components in compression making contact through the linear groove.

    • An electronic control system is provided which controls the locking and unlocking of a variable speed automatic transmission. A hydraulic control circuit comprising a plurality of hydraulic pressure controlling valves, a plurality of flow path switching means and a plurality of solenoid valves is provided to control the engagement of the clutches and brakes of the automatic transmission. The electronic control system detects a slope, modifies a portion of standard data in a manner corresponding to the detected slope to produce shift reference data which is then written into a read-write memory, compares the actual speed stage, throttle opening and vehicle speed against the shift reference data to determine the speed stage to which the transmission is to be shifted and controls the energization of the solenoid valves to change or shift the speed stage. Additionally, the electronic control system reads the minimum vehicle speed required to establish lockup and the maximum vehicle speed for unlocking which correspond to the actual speed stage and the throttle opening from lockup controlling reference data, compares them against the actual vehicle speed to determine the necessity of lockup or unlocking and controls the energization of the solenoid valves in accordance with the determination to establish a lockup or an unlocked condition.

    • This unit is equipped with a solenoid valve which is installed in an oil passage and exhausts the oil pressure from the oil passage at an appointed time in accordance with the output of an electric control circuit, and with a shift transition control valve controlled by said solenoid having two independent oil chambers in which the oil pressures supplied to hydraulic servos in forward and reverse drives respectively are regulated. When the shift is completed, the oil pressure supplied to the hydraulic servo is changed to line pressure. The timing function required for a clutch-to-clutch shift is controlled by a timing device composed of a pressure hold valve and a flow control valve.
